This may be more of a rant then a question, but I wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing all the problem with comcast that we have been having. ok first our service seems to go out all the time and they always promise to comp us for the time we didnt recieve service but I have yet to see any credit on our bill. for the longest time when I would call them up with a problem they would refuse to talk to me because my husband is the main account holder, even though I gave them all our info and even the last four digits of his social, and after he called them and told them to authorize me on the account they still wouldnt talk to me for the longest time (my husband works two jobs so I HAVE to call them he doesnt have time) then this summer our new neighbor got cable hook up and they ran the line across our yard (even though we dont share a cable box) my husband almost ran over it with the lawn mower. we called to complain and they sent someone out who wanted to dig the line through OUR yard I told them no it was for our neighbor not us and he said that comcast makes mistakes all the time and that they might have just typed in the wrong adress in the order so the contractor didnt know where to dig but he still continued to spray paint and mark our yard. when he sprayed our yard and got paint on the house I told him to leave before I called the police. then this mnth they charged me twice for our bill. I call them to make a payment through their automated system and the system said it couldnt take my payment and it would transfer me to a service rep. the woman I talked to said that she just recieved an email that said the system was down so she could take the payment from me and wave the normal fee. I said that was fine but told her that I wanted to be sure I wouldnt be charged twice. she said I wouldnt be. then she hangs up without even giving me a authorization number. then when I get my bill it says i dont owe anything for this mnth which I though was weird so I look at the bill and it shows that they DID charge me twice. I called my bank and they confirmed it but since the payment went through more than 24 hrs ago it was no longer pending so all the back could do is contact comcast and request that they send the payment back (which they refuse to do. ) the bank manger said that she would work with me on any fees that this may cause me if the payment causes me to go overdraft (which it will) I talked to comcast for almost an hr and to five different people and got disconnected twice and there overall feeling on this was that "this is not our problem" I couldn't believe it they took money out of my account with out my authorization (I didnt get to that step before the first payment said it couldnt go through) and they said they couldnt give me money back. they said the most they can ever credit it $50 (half of what I paid) but they said they are not even going to do that because even though they are sorry i was lied to they dont feel its their fault! they put a ticket into their problem resolution team who was suppose to call within 24 hrs and still hasnt almost 48 hrs latter. i dont know what else to do I mean that money that we will have to replace in our bank accout was the money we were going to use for our christmas gifts.
I should add that we live in a very small town and comcast is the only company to service this area for cable (we can't get dish network because we dont pass there credit check adn direct tv is on our bankruptcy so we cant get them either. we got comcast because it is $30 a mnth for unlimited calling long distance included and everyone we call is long distance)

What can I do next?

I just had a rant about Comcast last week. Personally, I can't stand the company, but I keep using them.

All I do in these situations is keep calling until I get someone on the other end who has a brain and fixes my problem. Last week my bill doubled because some idiot put in a bunch of random charges, and after calling for a couple of days, I finally got someone intelligent who fixed my bill and gave me a credit.

YES!!! I had everything you are describing, except the double withdrawl, AND the things that MY*BABIES described. I would not cancel them until you get the bank issue fixed. You can file a complaint with your bank. Fill out the form and the bank should replace the amount for the second withdrawl. That should/could happen today since its the first official banking day since Friday.

I'm sorry you're going through this with comcast. I'm having some of the same problems, last month a rep came to our house hung a sign on the door saying"contact us before your service is diconnected last attempt". When I called and spoke to someone to someone they we"re very rude. Make a long story short they had the wrong person right address. I was thinking this is the reason you set up acct# so u can know who's who. Last week someone was suppose to come out between 9-11 to fix my sons t.v and we saw the rep pull up in our drive way and turn right back around:-(((( my 7yr literally chased him down and he still ignored us. When I called to tell them what happned they said the rep said he called your phone and you didnt answer(not to mention the bill is never what it should be) I think i'm just going to pay the 200.00 cancellation fee. Good luck
