Anybody Taking Errin or Micronor Birth Control Pills?

I'm currently taking it (my daughter is 10 months) and so far, so good. My dr did say to call her as soon as I stop breastfeeding so she can switch my pills. I have noticed an increase in appetite though.

You could always use the contraceptive films that you stick up inside and they dissolve, too. Between the pill, the BFing, and contraceptive films, you should be pretty safe, I'd think.

I took Erin for about two years while I was nursing my daugher and never got pregnant. It did make me gail weight. The doctor will suggest you take it at the same time ever day and dont miss a day. My milk supply was good on it and it worked well for me.

I took Errin. I had no problems, just be careful and take precautions. We didn't use condoms but were careful in other "ways". When you finish breastfeeding switch pills. Hope this helps.

I took the Micronor (minipill) since I was breastfeeding and had no issues with possibility of being pregnant. However, you have to be strict about when you take the pill (everyday the same time). And you must continue breastfeeding. If you stop breastfeeding you need to see your doctor for a change in the pill. Don't miss a pill and if you do (because being a mom you sometimes overlook yourself) just take it asap and try not to miss mor than two a month. Hope this helps. E.

I can not remember the name of the pill I took while breastfeeding all I know is it was referred to as the mini-pill. I was very nervous about the effectiveness of the pill so we were always extra careful and used a backup method.

My son is 4 months old and I am still breastfeeding and so far so good. I hope it works because I have a 4 month old and 2 year old and I am not ready for another one yet.

I took Micronor after both of my boys and I made sure I took it at the same time every day. I set my alarm clock and the alarm on my watch so that I would not forget. I also chose to take it at 10 at night because I knew I would be in my bedroom where my alarm clock is, and if I wasn't then my watch was set to go off too and it would remind me. This seemed to work for me and so did the pill. Figure out what works best for you but definitely take it at the same time every day and be careful of meds that lessen the effectiveness of the pill. I took the Micronor with my first son and it worked great while I was breastfeeding, but be sure to switch as soon as you quit breastfeeding. I did not realize the risk and I got pregnant, suprise!!, 3 months after I stopped breastfeeding, while I was still taking the Micronor. I am taking Errin now while I am breastfeeding my second son, but as soon as I am ready to quit, I am switching! My husband and I also use condoms, because we don't really trust this pill. I am not really sure why I am taking it, but oh well.

i'm not taking those birth contro pills, but not sure why your dr is only putting you on either one of those. when i was breastfeeding, my dr put me back on my normal birth control pill. it was a low dose pill, same as i was on beforehand.

They are whats commonly known as the mini pill and yes the effectiveness of them lowers a lot if they are not taken at the same hour daily (withing 10 minutes or so. Thats how I got pregnant with my second child when my first was only 10 months old lol. So make sure to take them everyday at the same time and if you forget use an alternate method along with the pill for the rest of that cycle

I'm taking Camila and breastfeeding. It has worked so far. My baby is 7 1/2 months old.

I've been on Errin for almost 2 years now with no problems. My little one still nurses a few times a day. We haven't been careful, except when I first started using the pills, we had to wait a full month for them to take effect instead of the usual week or two.

I am not currently taking Micronor (generic for Errin). But I took it with both of my boys while I breastfed. I had no problems with it. And I did not get pregnant. Is there something specific you were wondering?

First of all congrads on breastfeeding. I to have breastfeed my children actually between the two I have been bf for 37 mts now! anyway I take micronor (the mini-pill) I have taken it for 10 mts now and I am not pregnant! I also took it with my first one for about 16mts, I had no problem. when I first started taking it I had headakes, but that is about all the side effects that I noticed. I have even missed quite a few pills ever now and then. Good luck and again great job for deciding to bf your child....

I think any progesterone-only bcp is okay for baby while breastfeeding. The concern is only for your milk supply. While a newer mom would absolutely not want to risk her milk supply and potentially damage the nursing relationship by taking bcp, if you are ready to begin weaning soon/would not mind if you have decreased supply or feel that your supply is very well established it should be fine. I am nursing my second child in his 19th month while taking Yasmin and have noticed little, if any decreased supply. I drink almost a gallon of water a day which probably helps! Yeah for you and continuing to breastfeed well beyond the average time in the US and for making choices to protect that relationship with your little one! Keep it up!

I took both Errin and Micronor for the first year while I was breastfeeding my now 18 month old daughter. I didn't become pregnant during that time. After I weaned my daughter I did switch because of the dose on those pills being lower. I now use the nuvaring, which is a totally new experience, and I'm very satisfied with it.

I don't know the brand name of the mini-pill I was taking, but I did get pregnant. You have to take the pill at exactly the same time every day, within minutes. If you take any sort of antibiotic, you have to use a backup method. On the package insert of the pill I took, it was listed as being only 80% effective at preventing pregnancy.

I took the Micronor for six months while I was nursing and I didn't have any trouble. My doctor told me to be sure and take it the same time every day.
