I have a white cotton shirt that had a coffee stain on it. I treated it with Spray N Wash bleach gel and washed it but it was still there. So, I decided to try straight bleach. Might not have been a problem if I hadn't got distracted by my 3 kids and forgotten about it. Now I have a bigger yellow stain from the bleach drying into the shirt. Is there anything I can do to get this out? I love this shirt and it's relatively new so I really don't want to just throw it away.
I use Oxy-Clean on my hardest stains and it really really works. The trick is to let it set over night ( I use a bucket) and stir it when you think about it.I use a wooden spoon so I don't get into the slick soapy stuff every time I stir. It takes out old stains that I had just given up and make my things look very fresh like new again.
Check out melaleuca.com. They have a product called Pre-Spot that will get anything out.
Try hanging it outdoors on a bright sunny day. The sun will often "bleach" out any stubborn stains. Otherwise, you could try adding bluing to your rinse water. You can buy it most places you would buy detergent.
Cascade Automatic Dishwasher (Powder type) will get that stain out of your White shirt. Soak overnight in either washing machine or bowl and than wash as usual with normal laundry soap! Works every time! I used this on my daughter (17 now)white clothes that I received as hand me downs, and the article (bibs, blankets, etc) would look as if they were brand new! Use the Cascade Automatic Dishwasher (Powder type) on "White Clothes" only.

I use an all natural product called Nature Bright from Shaklee. It uses natural enzymes to get into the fabric to get out stains. I don't buy bleach because it is a very toxic chemical so I can't say I've had success on a bleach stain, but it has taken out old stains from hand me downs. I can ask around to see if anyone has used it to get out a yellow bleach stain.

You might try Clorox Bleach for Colors (or a similar product). Of course, the directions say to soak whites much longer (1-8 hours, I think), but I've had moderate to much success with treating stains when I've soaked whites overnight. Also, my mil just put me on to Borax. It really whitened up a pair of pants that were yellowed from a dry cleaning of all things.

Try using lemon juice and salt and set it in the sun. It may take several treatments. Also work on rust stains.

Just a thought...don't know if it would work or not...but you might try using some dye on the entire shirt and see if that makes it all one color. Since I don't know...I would save this as a very last resort. Good luck.
I would try some of the more natural methods already mentioned and if that doesn't work I have had good luck with Oxy-Clean. I just buy the generic. The trick is to use as little water as possible, as hot as possible and four scoops of Oxy. Then when washer gets to aggitate stage, turn it off and let sit over night or all day. I think it eats away protein stains-really good on even old formula stains. But I don't know how it would do on coffee/bleach. Good luck.
I never have had any trouble, but.. that's me. If I were you, I'd try to find the product "Biz". When my first was little, a soaking in Biz got anything out! When I had my second, I pulled out all the old bibs and they were SO formula stained! Biz took it out! And this was 3 years later! I got some a couple of years ago for something or other so I'm pretty sure they still make it. It's an all fabric bleach, but I've never gotten any other all fabric bleach to work as well. If you don't find it.. Oxy-Clean takes out a lot of set in stains. Good Luck!
