Any Suggestions on Where to Buy a Non Bulky Winter Coat Size 12 Mo

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to buy a non bulky winter coat for my 9 month old daughter? All the winter coats I find are too bulky to fit into a car seat. I would love to hear from you!! Thanks

What can I do next?

I just got a great lightweight puffer coat from Target for $18. I love the fact that is light and not as bulky as most we've tried on. My daughter is 2, but fit better in an 18month size. I believe they had smaller sizes but am not positive. I went to the Target on Elston. good luck!

I don't feel comfortable putting my babies in bulky coats in a carseat either. We have a Bundle Me (made by J.J. Cole) and it works great for the carseat. I'll usually dress my daughter in a lightweight jacket underneath the Bundle Me, and then if we're going to be out in the cold weather for a while I'll put a winter coat on before we leave the car. Or, if we're going from our warm garage directly to someone else's door, I just throw a blanket over her for the walk to and from the car. They're a lot safer than coats because there is no bulk, and they work great for stroller, too.

I got a great coat last year from Old Navy. In fact, my child can dtill wear the coat and he is almost 2. I suggest Old Navy or the Gap.

If you find out, let me know! I think they are all huge and bulky when you try to get them into a car seat!

That being said, I know that the fleece Patagonia coats and snowsuits bunch down easier than many other coats, but they're spendy.

J., I am not sure if they still have them but when my kids were that little I got a great winter coat at Old Navy. Try there.

Ok, I know this is really what youre asking, but please be careful with coats in the car seat! If you have to loosen the straps of the car seat to fit the coat, it is no longer safe. In the event of a crash, (God forbid) the straps decompress, and endanger the child. You should only be able to fit two fingers between the baby and the strap.
You probably already know this, and thats why youre asking for a non-bulky coat, but you can never be too careful. Assuming your daughter is still in the infant carrier type seat, you can just put on a good sweater and a hat, and then throw a blanket over the whole thing until you get her in the car. Thats what Ive always done for my nephews and when I was a nanny.
Sorry if I sound preachy.
Good luck.

Children's Place has puffer jackets which look bulky but actually decompress once you strap them in. I used them laster year for my trio and they were fine. This year's coats are reversible too.
