Any Mom's with a Child with Bipolar Disorder HELP!!!
My son is 7 years old and is suffering from bipolar disorder. He was showing signs at the age of 5 and has just gotten worse and worse sins then. He threatens suicide, hurts himself, and is getting very violent with others including his father and I. We are getting help for him and the family through Behavioral Link, they are just the best thing that has happen to our family. But I am just crying out to any other mom's going through the same things as myself. Sometimes I just need someone that is going through the same things that I am to bounce ideas off of or cry with. If there are any other mom’s out there that have a bipolar child it would be great to know. Thanks in advance for all the help. A. S.

My 11 year old son became very aggressive, anxious, verbally abusive to the family, and sucidal last year. The doctors thought it might be bipolar but then changed the diagnosis to Asperger's. Just yesterday an occupational therapist evaluated him and said that she believes he has Sensory Processing Disorder. According to her, this SPD could be the root of all my son's problems. Therapy can help. Has anyone mentioned SPD to you? How did they determine the diagnosis of bipolar?

The Child and Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF) has a HUGE website with MANY discussion boards filled with thousands of parents in your same boat.
They are at http://www.bpkids.org That does cost a nominal fee to join in on the discussions.
A free board is at iVillage.com "Child Bipolar & Mood Disorders" board. That's at http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/listsf.asp?webtag=...

WOW...are you my twin??? I had posted same request awhile ago, no responses,so good luck, first of all. Second, my son is 9 now and have been battling with it since he was a baby, the diagnosis, treatment, understanding of others...it's hard out there to get support on something that is so little known. I have four, too, and one on the way, where does your son fall in line? Mine is oldest and he responds great to responsibility with the younger ones. As well as just being treated like an adult, he is very mature (at times) and seeks the acceptance of older kids/people. Please contact me anytime you are feeling stressed...no fee for joining!!! My email is ____@____.com, would be glad to give you phone contact, too!
Good luck, keep loving!

Hi A.!
I am a single mom and my son has ADHD and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). It has been such a huge challenge! I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you! It is so hard to watch your children suffer and you feel so helpless.
I found a nutritional supplement that has given my son and many others amazing results. He has only been on it for three weeks and I have already seen a big difference! It has given me so much hope! I would love to share with you if you are interested.
Good Luck and God Bless!
