Any Mom Groups Suitable for Working Moms, or Anyone Interested in Forming One?

Hi!

I'm relatively new to the Studio City area, and I would love the opportunity to meet other moms. My problem is that most of the mom's groups out there that I've reached out to are largely stay at home moms, so they plan activities for during the weekdays. Since I work full time, and my children are in daycare, this doesn't work for us. I'd LOVE to find a group (or create one) of working moms who are into doing activites once or twice a month on the weekends - Anyone aware of anything like this that already exists, or if not, anyone interested in forming a working mom's group? I'm happy to organize but would need contact info for anyone who's interested! :)

What can I do next?

I am a member of my local Mom's Club, and have joined several other networks in my areas, but like you I found that they are mostly stay-at-home moms or people who work from home and have more flexible schedules. That's not me!

I have a 13-month old son, live in Santa Monica, and work out of the home full-time.

If there's anyone else in my situation on the Westside who would like to meet once a month on weekends, husbands/partners welcome too, feel free to reach out to me directly!

Hi C.,
I just recently joined a group on meetup.com called Burbank Mom's Meetup Group. It's a mix of working and stay at home mom's, I think, and most of their meet up dates on the callendar are Saturday mornings or evenings. I have only attended one meet up so far but tomorrow morning will be my second and it seems like a good bunch of moms.
My two boys are both 3 months behind yours! Funny!

There's a great store in Encino called Mother's Haven. They offer a multitude of classes and have a working mom's group that meets on the weekends. I did all my prenatal classes with them and loved it. You can try looking up their website if your interested. Good luck.

i recently joined the mom's club in my area. maybe this would help.

I would love to meet other working moms, too. I have a 3 month old daughter and will be returning to work in 4 weeks :-(

St Joseph's Hospital in Burbank has a great Baby Wise group for moms and babies that meets every Saturday at 10:30 for an hour and a half or so. The moms can have questions answered by the doula/child expert who runs the group and the babies have time to play with each other. Other plans happen once the moms know each other. It was specifically created because many of the moms were going back to work.

Hi! I work part time at CSUN and am going to graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology, so I stay pretty busy too. I have a three month old daughter who LOVES people and chatter. I would love to have get togethers, so keep me posted on how the group is coming along. I live in Chatsworth, but I don't mind going to the other side of the Valley.

Hi C.,

I am not in the Valley, but just joined a group on meetup.com that has a Valley chapter (Terrific LA Moms). There are also several other groups around LA county, but this one seems very active and does family meet ups on weekends, too. I have gone to 2 meet ups and really enjoyed them as has my 2 year old. You might also look into playgroupsusa.com
Good Luck!
