I am expecting baby #2 in 7 weeks. Does anyone have any good gift ideas for the new baby to give her big brother? He is 3.5.

What can I do next?

Congratulations! My boys are 3 years apart, too. My in-laws gave my older son a "I'm the Big Brother" t-shirt right before they brought him to the hospital to meet his new brother. Five years later, he still wears it occasionally at night (it's a bit small now)!

When my second was born, my sister bought the baby and I'm the Little Brother bib and my toddler an I'm the Big Brother T-Shirt. I was pleasantly surprised at the people around me who purchase gifts for the baby and also a little something for my toddler so he wouldn't feel un-special.

My daughters are also 3.5 years apart. I realize they are girls but maybe this will help. I ordered two blankets from the Disney Store and had each of their names put on their own blanket. I brought them to the hospital with me. I gave my oldest daughter who is now 8 her blanket from "her baby sister". They both still use their blankets with their favorite characters on them. Good Luck and Congrats on your new baby!!

Hi K.,
What about a personalized picture frame with an inscription from your your older son to his baby sister? You could take a picture of the two of them together shortly after your baby girl is born. Not sure if you're familiar with Personalizationmall.com, but they have wonderful stuff (somewhat pricy, but their merchandise & quality is top-notch).
Good luck,
R.

Congrats on your new baby!! If you're looking for something that he'll look back on and think how special, then any of these other gift ideas sound perfect ( I wish I had known about them last year!!). But - if you're just looking for something to make him extremely happy in the moment, have the baby buy him whatever toy or theme he is into right now, and he'll be so excited that the baby already knows what he loves! My kids are 2.9 apart, and my son loves guitars but we hadn't gotten him one, so we had his baby brother buy him a guitar ( a toy one) and he couldn't believe his good fortune! That was a year and a half ago and it's still his favortie. It is a good idea to have something on hand that he loves as the baby will be getting so much attention and so many gifts from other people.
Good luck!

My son loves the book "I'm a Big Brother" by by Ronne Randall and Kristina Stephenson. You could also get Big Brother and Little Sister shirts. Good luck!

Hi - when I had boy #2 I got some great big brother gifts at
http://www.geniusbabies.com/big-brother-gifts.html
I purchased the gift set that came with a T shirt, book, and camera. I had him open it right at the hospital so he could take pictures of his new brother. I am now expecting boy #3 so I'm sure I'll be back there myself!
