Any Experience with Avent Sippy Cups

My 11 month old twin sons are in the process of weaning from the bottle. They have had a sippy cup (Nuby) since 6 months. Once they mastered the Nuby sippy cup I moved on to the Playtex cups whihc they don't like. I think the flow is just too slow and removing the piece inside the cup makes the flow much to fast. I tried cups with straws which they don't like either. I recently went back to the Nuby which they drink a little from but it leaks so much. We used Avent bottles and were pleased with those and thought we would try the Avent cups. I've read some reviews online but was looking for some more feedback. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
My son (who's now 2) was extremely picky about his cups. I seriously bought every type babiesrus sold! We ended up with the avent cups. I liked that they went in stages, the white for when he's little, then the soft green, and then the harder green spouts.
They can be a pain to clean, because they have the 3 parts, but if you don't mind then I think they were great. We haven't had any leaking issues, but i have handwashed them most of the time. I'd also recommend buying the little tiny cleaning brushes (they're made for dr. brown's bottles). They get in the crevices really well.
good luck.

I really liked the Avent sippy cups. My son did very well with them. I still use them with my toddlers I care for during the day. I say give them a try. They are easier to sip from then the playtex ones.

Instead of investing in the cups and not liking them, you can buy the sippy inserts (goes where nipple is) from Avent to put in the bottles you already have. If your kids can easily use them, then go ahead and invest in the cups since they're way prettier than the bottles with a sippy insert. I have used every brand of sippy cup on the market and the only ones I really had trouble with were the Nubby (son pushed spout on to any surface to cause a puddle, daughter no problem with) and the take and toss cups, if child throws them or drops them on a hard surface the top pops off.

Hello S.. I used Advent sippy cups with my children. I thought it was a great product. The kids seemed to love them. You have to change part of the top as they mature(so more juice/milk can get through). Info. is on the package. It was one of the only sippy cups that I didn't have to worry about leaking, which was great. You can always buy one and see how your children like them. Good luck, I hope your kids like the sippy cups.

I use the Avent sippy cups for my 21 month old and I swear by them. They are a litte bit more expensive than others, but are well worth it. Especially when my son throws them on the floor! With other cups, it would break or the no-drip piece would come out and it would spill all over. I started using them when he was around one and they haven't broken or had any issues yet. Good luck!

I've never used the Avent cups, but we use a lot of the Nuby cups. I was having problems with them leaking, too. I discovered it was the way I was screwing the lid on. You have to get it just right. Once I mastered that skill, we haven't had any issues.

They don't leak - a problem I've had with the Nubys. I'd try the green top for 11 month olds. It's the toddler top and will give them a faster flow which they probably are used to with the Nuby cups.

I used the bottles and loved them, but I did not like the sippy cups. If felt they were very hard to clean. But the flow is based on how hard they suck, mure like a bottle, so you may like them for that.
