Where are the best places to eat lunch and dinner with a 2 yr old boy and a mini-drama queen age 5? Any and all kids-eat free deals and just a place where I can have a good cup of coffee and bring the kids? Know of any places that have good kid food besides Luby's (no fast food). I think this would really benefit all of us working moms. Thanks in advance!

Hi, L.! Go to the following website for a list of "kids eat free" restaurants:

http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/cuisine/kids_...

Also, some of the Joe's Crabshack restaurants and the new Lupe Tortilla in Sugar Land (59 and Hwy. 6) have a play area with sand.

Happy dining!

We eat out a lot with our 2-year old and find these places to be the best for him:
Lupe Tortillas- has a great sand box and multiple locations, good mexican food and outdoor dining
Joe's Crabshack- I don't think the food is that great, but also has a sand pit and playground and kid-friendly atmosphere
Jack's Grill in Bellaire- very kid friendly with a mixed menu
Skeeter's Grill- I think they have multiple locations. We go to one at Weslayan and Bissonet They put paper on the tables and have crayons for the kids to color on the table. Food is so-so but kid-friendly
I'm always looking for more places, so I am interested to read the responses to your post. Good luck.

I know there's plenty of restaurants that have kids eat free nights, but I just thought I'd mention my latest experience at a restaurant with my daughter (5). We went to Carrabba's for dinner (not that cheap, but not bad for good italian food) and although they didn't have a kids eat free deal, they definitely knew how to keep her entertained!! The kids menu had tons of pages of activies, which kept my daughter very busy and they also had those little bead mazes that suction-cup to the table. Also, while we were waiting for our food, the waiter brought her a small plate with a triangle of dough and some toppings so she could make her own little pizza! Then he came by and took it to the kitchen to cook it. She ate it with her meal, and it was no extra charge. She took lots of time pressing out her dough and arranging the toppings. I don't know if they do that all the time, but I thought it was awesome and my daughter loved it! Just wanted to share that kid-friendly dining experience. We went to the Sugar Land location at Hwy. 6 and 59 and the service was excellent.

Jason's Deli has a kid menu with mac n cheese, chicken fingers, hot dog, hamburger, etc. They also get a color page with colors and a free ice cream or frozen yogurt cone or cup!

One I do not see in the replies is Sam's Boat in Sugar Land at the Fountains - on Saturday kids eat free from 11-3. Plus they have HUGE koi fish in the water under the deck - so we always bring a loaf of bread, if you forget they will give you crackers and the fish eat most anything even french fries. They also have live music, so it is a relaxed place to go where you can hang out and the kids can run around, people are very laid back there so no one gets upset if your kids run around, or come over and say hi or even yell.

Two of our family's faves are Willies or Joe's Crab Shack. Both places have playgrounds or sandboxes to keep even the antsiest kids busy. I believe Lupe Tortilla's might have a playground as well...

We have been to Corelli's (italian) on Highway 6/Williams Trace in Sugar Land with kids and there are always lots of kids of all ages there. They provide crayons, have a good kid menu and are very nice.
