Antique Stores

I am looking for quaint little antique shops to go to. Shops that have antiques, gifts, shabby chic looking things, etc. Not the ones that sell really expensive antique pieces. I have yet to find any like that. Any recommendations?

Hi M., I don't know how reasonable they are but I've heard they have some pretty good stuff it's called the Brass Armidillo I think it's still open. It's in blue springs/grain valley on the outer road. If you take I-70 east bound you will pass by it. Hope this helps W..

M.:

There are many antique shops around town. Waldo (off of 75th and Wornall) has several, there is an "antique mall" in Corinth (off of Mission Road), an "antique mall" in Lawrence and several furter out (Weston, Greenwood...).

There is one north of downtown...... I think its called RiverMarket Antiques. Its has 3 or 4 floors of antiques. If you're looking for furniture, there is a store at 75th and Metcalf on the north side of Osco Drug that has some neat furniture pieces in there.

It's not an antique store but it has a HUGE variety of decorative items at great prices: Old Time Pottery in Indpendence off of Noland Rd and 40 Hwy.

There is a really cute one in Parkville, MO called Nine Lives. Shabby chic is their specialty. There's also a really nice natural clothing store there (kinda pricey as those stores often are.) Parkville is about 15 minutes north of downtown KC. If you haven't been to Parkville, its worth a little afternoon trip. There are a few cute shops there and its right off the river. If you have a whole day, hit Parkville and then head out further north to Weston. Weston has several little antique shops all along the main strip and its a cute old westerny town.

we love to go and browse waldo antiques. its at 75th and wornall. all price ranges in there.

Sentimental Journey Antique Mall is a big store, and is made up of booths that people have set up to sell their things. You just take everything you want to buy up to the front of the store and check out when you are through looking around. Nothing is very high-priced except for some of the furniture, but everything is definitely old and well-used. My friend and I have spent hours in there. You can find some real treasures, especially if you don't mind using a little spray-paint on some things to fix them up. It is located on Old 56 highway, just west of Harrison (The street the Great Mall is on). It just says "Antiques" on the front of the store in big letters.

I'll be interested in what other responses you get. I love antiques and shabby chic also. :)

FYI, if you find one larger Antique shop, there should be a flier in the front that lists most of the good ones in the Metro.
