Antibiotics and Menstral Cycle

Had Strep Throat and a little over a week ago, just finished my antibiotic meds Monday, Jan30th, and have not started my cycle this month. Could the meds affect my cycle? Also, I'm not on birth control and have had my tubes tide (2007). I know I could still get prego. (99%ish chance, have read stories) but the chances are slimmmm.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you ladies for your feedback - great information. Anyway, started my cycle 2 days ago which put me at about a week late. But it's happened before. When I spoke to my gyno., she said that my natural progesterone could also affect my cycles. So we changed the amount of days I take my prog. cream! All is well! Thanks again ladies!

Antibiotics can mess up your cycle for a month or so depending on how ill you were and the strength of the medicine. It can even knock your cycle off track. I had this happen once when I got pneumonia and it took at least three to four months to get back on track. The only bad thing I found was that I did not know my body anymore as in when I was ovulating and such. Other than that you should be okay.

How long ago did you have your tubes tied or was it recently?

Good luck getting back on track.

Being sick can affect your cycle, but more importantly antibiotics can make birth control pills less effective. If you're on the pill, you might want to take a pregnancy test just in case.

Anytime I take meds for stuff like that it messes my cycle up big time!!! I would not worry about it. I had mine tide in 2002 and I will go a month here and then start and then a few months later not have one sometimes not even one meds. It's normal after having your tubes tide. I would not worry.
