Another Period Question :)

Not that anyone wants another "period question" but here is the problem. I have had a pretty consistant 25 day cycle with the period lasting 5-6 days. Im not using any form of birth control for the past year. Im 33 yrs and have 2 girls 14 months apart. WELL - this month no period - and we are goin on 31 days with nothing except prego symptoms - boobs, back and exaustion. Trouble is No positive test - they are all turning up negative! Whats up? Has anyone else had this issue?

HI L.,
I experienced something like this in that I have a fairly regular cycle averaging around 30 days with periods lasting about 3 days. Well, last month when I was expecting to get my period on the 21st I didnt get it until the 30th - ie a 40 day cycle!!! I also took a prego test on the 27th and it was negative. I think it was stress related.

If you are really concerned you need to call you OB/GYN on Monday morning, otherwise just give it a few days and see if Aunt Flow arrives late.

I would call the doc and get a blood test. It's rare, but some people have been known to get repeated false negative results with urine pregnancy tests - just watch "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" on the Discovery Channel! :-) Hope you get the results you're hoping for!!

It could be your pregnant and it's too early to tell via urine test. It could be stress, weight loss/gain, something you have eaten more or less of lately, change of medication. Wait 10 days, if you don't have it do a home test, if negative, wait 10 more days, if nothing then call your Gyne and ask.

I think you've heard all the advice from the other mamas, but I wanted to chime in to let you know you're not alone. I've had this happen to me a few times, and since I'm trying to conceive, I get excited each month, only to get my period late. I started doing the ClearBlue ovulation tests, and I've discovered I'm not ovulating sometimes, so that could be the cause. I also get nauseated, but the doc thinks I have severe heartburn that is manifesting itself through nausea.

If you still don't have your period in the next week, I'd definitely check with your ob/gyne. Best of luck! M.

My best friend has two boys and with both of her boys every pregnancy test she took came up negative. She was almost four months before she got a positive result.

Give it another week and take another test....then make an appointment with your doctor.

Not sure if this is what you want to hear or not, but you may not be far along enough to register positive on a test yet. I took many pregnancy tests with my first daughter that showed up no and finally one showed up positive. I would wait maybe a few more days and take another test, then if still no, I would call the doctor to see what is going on. With my second, I also had no period, thought we were pregnant but not sure what happened. Ended up having to take some pills to bring on my period and get it going again.

There are so many reasons this could be happening with you but let me say this, my periods are pretty consistant every 30 days or so. I have always got a period every month except when I'm pregnant lol. My hubby and I started trying to get pregnant in June and I never ovulated. I went to my dr after 60 days of no ovulating and they gave me pills to start my period. I'm not sure what happened but now that I just finished my period we can start trying again.

I had this happen one time. It took me almost two weeks to get a positive pg test, even though with other pregnancies I tested positive before I was due to get my period. I miscarried a week after the positive pg test, so I think something had to be really wrong with the pregnancy for all of that to happen. Good luck.
