I got this. The DS XL where the kids can record sounds then manipulate the frequency. Makes me want to get a hammer EVERY time I hear it.

Those dang Zhu Zhu pets drive me up the wall. I took the one my sis bought my daughter apart and took out the battery. I refuse to put it back in. The thing would not shut up even when it wasn't being played with. Other than that, I'm pretty tolerant as long as it's being played with.

An annoying toy is any toy marketed and advertized by children's programming. Battery operated toys are a subset of these. My advice? Don't buy them and you won't be frustrated.

My sister basically outlawed noisy toys for my nephew. Then again, we often wondered if there was a way to take the batteries out of HIM.
I didn't really mind noisy toys, but my son had one firetruck that honked and had a siren and alternated that noise at the least little bump if it wasn't turned off. If he just moved it to get to another toy, there it went.
When the batteries ran down, I just somehow seemed to forget to buy more, silly me.
:)
He had fun playing with it without the noise but I did replace the batteries every now and then. He loved that truck.
He's 15 and still has it.
And yes....it still works perfectly.

I've never smashed a toy, but I think I can relate to the temptation.

Best wihses.

When my granddaughter was little (they lived with us) she left a toy on the back porch near my bedroom window. This thing has a motion dector on it and I'm falling to sleep only to hear 'hi let's play'--kinda creepy.
My son was sitting on the couch relaxing and watching TV and one of his daughter's toys suddenly started talking. She had been asleep for over an hour. He calls them 'from the island of posessed toys' (my 6' 2" son almost jumped out of his skin lol)

i can't stand my toddler's Woody doll (the cowboy from toy story). Whenever we bump into the toy box (which happens to also be our ottoman) he starts yapping away about his damn hat!

The toys that are noisy really don't bother me. The really annoying toys are...toys that end up in the kitchen, in the living room, in the middle of the family room floor, in the dining room, up the steps...etc!! :)

The only irritating toy I've smashed, was accidentally stepping on it when it's not put away. Then the toy becomes irritating because it wasn't put away and because it hurt when I stepped on it, lol!
