Anniversary Gift - Olathe,KS

Does he like a certain sports team? I usually get my husband a new Iowa Hawkeyes or KC Chiefs hoodies or hats or something, since they are usually pricier than his normal clothes he wears. And he's h*** o* clothes so they are usually looking pretty ratty in a year. He always loves that. The years I've strayed away from that he's not as excited. Except the year I got him and I tickets to a Chiefs game, he LOVED that.

We're like you, a nice dinner and usually no gift, just a nice card. However, our last milestone anniversary we took a getaway to NYC, just the two of us. We made sure to take tons of pictures and when we got home I turned those pics into a Shutterfly book for his birthday. He loved it, albeit after our anniversary, it was like a gift that keeps on giving.

Congratulations! 20 years! There's a lot to be said for that! :)
We usually just do dinner but we don't have near as much time logged
in yet. Ha ha.
I usually do something little: first year was a clock (that was the modern gift for anniversaries) so I bought a clock and had a special saying engraved on the back, etc.
I say maybe get something inexpensive to commemorate (sp?) this
very special occasion.
For 20 years it says that China or Platinum are the gifts so you could:
-take a trip to China (ha ha far I know) or go to Chinese food
-buy him a platinum thin band if he'll wear it
-see what record he loved from his youth that has gone plantinum then buy him the CD
-find a Chinese character that represents love or marriage, copy it in black and frame it
-have a picnic w/Chinese Take out
-Fortune cookies (you can make your own ((See Paula Deen for recipe)) and put your own sweet note inside of why you love him after all these years
-Write 20 reasons why you love him!
-A nice card
-Reprint your wedding photo, take it on the trip and show him while you both reminisce and have some laughs hopefully

We just celebrated our 25th yesterday. I gave my husband a new ipad and I will be receiving new wedding rings. I also gave him several cards in different places and he did the same for me. He also sent me flowers. They are gorgeous!!!

We normally wouldn't do this but it is 25 years of wedded bliss. For the biggies we do something but for the others its cards, flowers dinner.

my hubby and I are having our 6th anniversary today, and we do not buy each other gifts, we just get cards.

We don't do gifts either- really nice dinner out with a sitter is pretty pricey in NY!

I have done a couples massage for our first anniversary and that was a blast!

We usually do the traditional gift for each year. This way it takes the pressure off a big gift and it gives us a fun way to commemorate. Sometimes we buy joint gifts...this past year for us was iron. Really, iron? I don't know where they come up with this stuff, but we cheated a little bit and bought a fancy knife set, that's close to iron right?! 20 years is a big deal (yay for you guys!!) and traditional gifts are kind of fancy, so since you're already going to Vegas I probably wouldn't do anything else, unless you go out for some fancy Chinese like someone else mentioned! Or you could get a Chinese deep tissue massage or something like that, that would be a gift for both of you and I'm sure you can find that in Vegas! Congratulations and have a great day!

It depends on how we are feeling, at the moment. Not if we are happy or mad at each other, just how much money we have been spending on whatever. If we feel we have been spending too much, we don't buy for one another. For example, we just celebrated our 20th as well. And just this summer, we finished remodeling the whole downstairs of our house, including an awesome new kitchen. We decided that was our gift to each other. It will probably be our birthday and Christmas gifts too. But now if you are going to Vegas, I would definitely get him something to make the occasion even more memorable.
