I totally agree about buying American made toys or toys that are safe. I think K'NEX is a good company to go with. You can search my site for toys and more if you scroll toward the bottom there are different banners of places to shop. www.JillMall.com

My husband and I are very concerned with this for many reasons. I highly recommend www.etsy.com. This is a great artist marketplace and you can find all sorts of unique and wonderful things. Another thing that we do is go to local craft shows. It can be surprising what local artists and crafters make that you don't know about or see.

I found a company that sells just American made. It is called Three crazy Monkey's. You can go to www.threecrazymonkeys.com and see for yourself. I think it is pretty good and good for our country! Hope you can find some things.
Good Luck,

Hi S.,
I did a lot of research about this last year. You have to be careful, many American companies outsource some of their manufacturing. Check out www.toysmadeinamerica.com.
Last year I gave my daughter some things from http://www.animalsandarks.com/puzzles.htm including the rabbit puzzle. she played with it every day for months.

Hey, S.!
At the risk of this being a shameless plug, I have a baby sling company called THING-A-MA-SLING, and in addition to making full-size infant/child carriers, I also make "Mini-Thingy" doll slings! They're pretty inexpensive & I have a nice variety of fabric to choose from (plus several fabrics that aren't currently listed online).

They're a really fun way for children to role play.

I recently launched my new site (which is a HUGE step up from my old site!) and am offering 10% off till Friday by entering coupon code "UPGRADE" during the checkout. The site is www.ThingaMaSling.com

If you live anywhere near Easton, I'd be happy to meet you to save you the shipping charges.

For standard "toys" I really love www.RosieHippo.com and www.MagicCabin.com for natural toys (some of which are American-made).

Good luck!

hey there,
yeah - i'm right there with you... my husband just recently brought home the coolest tea set from wholefoods... you can see it (and buy it) on this web site:

http://www.greentoys.com/

they are from san fran. and are so incredibly cool... being that you are a pastry chef, your kids may love these!!
I have a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl who play with this set all the time!
have fun on your search!

A great site available for another week or so is <http://www.zebulonusa.com/index.asp>. After that they will be liquidating their stock. But right now they still have a great selection of products.
