It's different for everyone and for every pregnancy. Also, subsequent pregnancies show MUCH sooner (especially 3rd or more). So I think I would say yes, you could. It doesn't mean, though, that you will necessarily get bigger this time. It just starts sooner and then evens out over the time if you stay fit and eat healthy.

Each pregnancy is different and each woman is different. While some talk about the baby bump, we might not see it like that. My first two I didn't hardly show at 5 months but I was wearing maternity clothes by the second month of my third pregnancy. Babies make a difference too. They say boys are more out front where you can't tell you are pregnant from the back.. girls are more spread out and you look pregnant or heavy from the back. Also remember that while people are looking at you, you are looking down or in a mirror and may not see the bumb quite as much as those looking at you.

I'm pregnant with #2 (8 months along now)...but when I first found out I was pregnant, it seemed like I was starting to show in no time! I've heard that your muscles are kind of stretched out and it's a lot easier to look like you're showing in subsequent pregnancies. I did look like I was just "fat" at first, but eventually the baby bump looked more like it was supposed to. :o)

I'm so in your boat! We are trying for #3 (our 4th pregnancy) and I swear, I could just wear maternity clothes and people would think I was 4 months along! I think most tactful people understand about where women carry weight after baby... Oh, and I, for one, am very sensitive to the weight gain; it physically hurts to wear pants that are too tight very early on, even though I could still technically fit into my "real" clothes...and I think that baby bloat, that yucky-looking stage that comes before you look truly pregnant, gets earlier with each baby.

You're not crazy! As you know...everyone shows at different times, but I showed earlier on each one (currently 6 wks pregnant with #4). I always hate that time when you're just starting to show but it's not really obvious yet. Always makes me feel fat, too. But, it won't be long and you'll have that beautiful baby bump. Just enjoy the pregnancy and changing body, and don't worry about the frumpy weeks. It will change soon enough. try to wear clothes that make you feel good about yourself. For me, it's the same pair of jeans pretty much every day :) Good luck with your pregnancy.

I'm almost 10 weeks with my 2nd and I'm at the fat stage too, but I'm growing out of my clothes faster this time. Not ready for matternity clothes yet, but my regular ones aren't fitting like they should, but I don't want to buy new ones, sigh

NO you're not crazy--I'm currently 7wks with my second and feel like I look the exact same way. I'm hoping it's all the water weight and things will even out as I progress...I guess only time will tell. I wouldn't worry about it though. Congrats btw!

I am on my 3rd pregnancy and 12 weeks....and not showing. In my personal opinion virtually no one shows at 4 weeks if they THINK they are...I think they are nuts. Unless there is more than 1 in there I don't even think it is possible to show that early...I mean your uterus hasn't even hardly changed yet! I know everyone is different and I know of people showing at 7-8 weeks.

BUT I totally know about the bloating thing...it comes and goes but sometimes you feel 6 mo along! Some nights I feel like I'd pop if you touched me!! The bloating will pass and then you will know when you are showing! Have a great pregnancy!

Ha! I'm 4 months prego with #3 and I feel HUGE!!! I was wearing maternity clothes at 2 months!!! I keep telling people that there better be a litter in there for how big I am already!! I have a couple friends that have had 3+ kids and they all said that with their third they got big right away. So yes, you are not crazy, you're just prego! :)

L.,

I got bloated early along, too. I was 6 weeks and people were saying "congratulations" because I was so noticably large and couldn't fit in my clothes anymore. I didn't even announce that I was pregnant. The baby was measuring right on and I had only gained 1-3 pounds, but I was HUGE.

My sister is pregnant with her third and she was already looking big the day she found out. Poor thing, the baby's due January and it's definitely been a 9 month pregnancy already.

Pregnant with #3 here at 19 weeks and well I look like I did when I was 8 months pregnant with my first. I started showing with this one around 7 weeks really well. My husband just laughs at me cause when I lay down it's like "where did the baby go" I don't even look pregnant laying on my back but then I stand up and Poof baby belly! LOL

I was positive I was showing with my last pregnancy by 6 or 7 weeks! The only bad thing was that by 11 weeks I had gained about 7 pounds and then miscarried...... So I still had the pregnant looking body with no baby. So, YES, it is very possible that you are showing already! CONGRATS~

Everybody carries children differently. My first one I grew fast and everyone thought I would pop by the 7th months. Have they done an ultrasound to rule out more than one little one on the way? Usually being so big early is a big indication of more than one. I wouldn't worry about the way people proceive the way you look. You could also be having trapped intestinal gas issues making you look more bloated than your should. Try staying away from gassy foods and see if that makes a difference. So long as your ob dr says everything is fine I would worry too much about it. Also the more children you have the less strengthened your abdominal walls are and it could cause you to look bigger than you think you should. Check with your Dr right away if you are really bothered by it. I sure you are just fine and carrying the baby more forward than you did with your first two. You may grow fast at first and then taper off as time goes on. You are fine!! Don't worry about it.

Sure you could. My sister said with each bay she showed faster and earlier. It's no big deal. You're pregnant and you can be happy about that. Don't worry if people think you're farther along. Just smile and go with it:)
