Alternative Medicine for Lyme Disease

Hi, I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease about a month back. I got a tick bite last Sep.and had developed a rash after that. 3 weeks of antibiotics got rid of the rash & fever but since then I had been experiencing some excruciating pains in different joints all over my body.Only 3 weeks back the disease got confirmed.Presently I am on 4 wk. dose of antibiotics.

Can anyone suggest an alternative remedy or home remedy for this disease, that otherwise stays forever in our system?

What can I do next?

Dear I.,
I went to a wholistic internist and he kept me on antibiotics for 4 months. There is not much else you can do for Lyme. His name is Martin Mulders, MD and his office is south west of Philadelphia. It is worth the trip if you are not feeling well.
Good luck,
A.

I., I am so sorry you are dealing with Lyme’s disease as I’m sure it has been quite taxing on your physical and mental health. Acupuncture has a lot to offer you as you heal from Lyme’s disease, and I have seen several people's health improve with treatment at the acupuncture clinic where I work. More specifically, acupuncture helps by:
*Building your immune system, so that it can fight the bacteria more effectively
*Supporting your Liver, so that it isn’t weakened by the antibiotics
*Supporting the Liver, Spleen and Kidneys to more effectively get rid of the bacteria toxins
*Decreasing pain and swelling
*Increasing energy
*Increasing warmth (the bacteria tend to gravitate towards colder parts of the body, causing pain)
*Increasing blood circulation (the bacteria can not thrive in a highly oxygenated body)
*Creating more peace of mind, and a sense of ease and calm, which also will help with your healing

I would highly recommend that you look into it. Feel free to email me for more info and I can tell you more about my acupuncture services. Take Care!

I would recommend going to Dr. Nader Soliman; he is a homeopathic physician (who also works as an anasthesiologist) located in Rockville, MD near Shady Grove Hospital. He helped my husband's boss, who had lyme disease for quite a few months before he was correctly diagnosed. My mother also goes to him for GI issues and has been very pleased with his care, after none of her traditional MD's were able to help her. I also know of several other accquaintances who swear by him for migraine relief and allergy relief. Unfortunately, most insurances do not cover homeopathic care, so it can be quite expensive, just to warn you! I think it is definitely worth it if nothing else is helping. His number is ###-###-####.

I believe that you are stuck. My daughter was diagnosed last fall and she has to go on an antibiotic regimine every time she gets bitten-and seeing that we live in the woods (literally-our beautiful home is on 146 secluded acres!!) she's been on it 3 times since then. Once you have been diagnosed, lyme disease will always be in your system, but not active. We use premithicyn (sp?) to repel, but that is also a prescription cream.

Hi - I just got over this myself. I was diagnosed at the end of July. I didn't even know I was bit. I had no external signs (reddness, rash, etc.) but just felt weird. My doctor ran some random tests and the Lyme Titer was one of them. Much to my complete shock and amazement, he called a few days later to tell me I had Lyme Disease! So I was on Doxycycline for 30 days - the ENTIRE MONTH OF AUGUST. No fun since one major side effect is sun sensitivity. So, I guess I don't really have an answer for you, I'm sorry. Good luck to you!

I have been suffering with the symptoms from lyme disease for 8 years now.

I had brain fog, problems with concentration, trouble sleeping, stiff joints and no energy to speak of. I would fall asleep in the chair each night after dinner. This is 7 years later.

Being a lyme suffer for so long you will try anything. My doctor is a LLMD but there are only so many choices. I was done with the medicines, too many side effects.

I came across an all natural mineral supplement that has made a tremendous difference in my life. It helps alkalinize your system, and helps healing.

This product helped clear up these symptoms; I feel like it has given me my life back. My symptoms just slowly went away. I was too busy with life to notice.

You just add this teabag to your water and drink your water throughout the day. How easy is that!

The results have been amazing. I have been on the water for almost a year now and can tell it is still detoxing my system.

Good luck to you
hope this information has helped

Acupuncture should be great, but also very important is to boost your immune system so your body can use it's best natural defenses to combat the disease. If you would like specific recommendations for lyme disease, please research http://www.drraystrand.com

Dr. Strand is a specialist in nutritional medicine. I am already a member of his site and can send you a free specific recommendation for lyme disease if this is a route you would like to explore further.

I have never heard of a home remedy for Lyme disease. If you look in one of those "Home Remedy" books you may find something. Did you ask your doctor about a home remedy for the joint pain? He would be the best person to ask. Best of luck to you.
