All Kids
Hi everyone-I hope you guys can help me out. I just had a baby girl 10 weeks ago and when she was born I had BCBS HMO. While on maternity leave I made the decision to not go back full time and to find something part time much more locally. Since I did not go back full time I lost the insurance. I applied for the ALL KIDS insurance and just recieved the card in the mail. I was wondering if any of you moms out there have the ALL KIDS for your babies and which pediatrician you are using? I live in Naperville and the pediatrician I am currently using is all the way in St. Charles, I used to work out that way. I don't feel comfortable just picking anyone off the list without getting any recommendations. If anyone has any advice for me please let me know I would appreciate it. I don't mind having to drive a bit if someone knows off a good doc. Thank you all SOO much.

We are not on ALL KIDS, but if they are on the list, we go to Dupage General Pediatrics on Ogden Ave. in Naperville.

I live in Oswego. My 12 year old son is on All Kids and we see a group of pediatricians in Naperville. Actually, they have been his doctors for many years....even before he was on All Kids. It is a good group. It's DuPage Medical Group. The office is at River and Ogden....the tall building. You can reach them at ###-###-####. I think the only name from the group that All Kids has is Dr. Jennifer Blount, although you can see any doctor from the group.

Don't knoW much about that insurance, but you can check and see if Ira Rubin with Naperville Pediatrics is on the list. There are three doctors in the office and they are excellent, responsive and caring. Mother of two girls - 14 yrs. And 5 yrs.

I think that the best way to pick a doctor is to first pick a hospital that you're comfortable with, and then pick a doctor close to where you live that is also affiliated with the hospital of your liking.
Being in Naperville, probably Edward Hospital is a good choice. Make sure that Edward accepts All Kids Health Insurance, and then ask them for a listing of pediatricians in your neighborhood. Most Pediatrician's offices have multiple pediatricians working there, and so you can pick one based on their online profiles, and you can always switch pediatricians easily within the same office.

My son is on All Kids and we went through a few of them before finding one that didn't make us wait an hour, or where I didn't feel like I had to speak Spanish to get an appointment... The doctor we liked isn't actually a pediatrician - he's a family practice doctor, but he saw both me and my son. His name is Ankur Patel and he's in Oswego on 34 (not too far from you I guess.) You never have trouble getting an appointment, and his office is clean and modern. However, he doesn't specialize in pediatrics, so if that's important to you, you may want to try someone else. Another doctor that I really liked is a pediatrician in West Chicago named Sarah Dennison - she was patient and very good with my son. The only problem with that office was that I would sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes, then in the exam room for 20 minutes, and after the doctor examined him and said the nurse would be 'right in' to give him his vaccination, it would be another 30 minutes. If you've got thick skin and don't mind speaking up about the wait, she really is a good pediatrician. We don't see either of them anymore because we have BCBSIL through both mine and my hubby's employers now, but I hope that helps!

I live in Wheaton, IL (DuPage as you know) and my pedi is Dr. Elizabeth Heredia ###-###-####)of Central DuPage Hospital. She is wonderful she has 4 kids now, I've been with her through 3 of them. She is very professional and she will answer any questions you have, no question is dumb. She also has an office in St. Charles and Wheaton located by Danada Square. You could call to see if she is taking new patients. Mother of two boys 19mths old and she still cares for my 15 year old. LOL He refuse to go to another doctor.
