Hi,

We've had a good response for my twins' birthday party this year. Naturally I've considered a few different venues for kids parties. I noticed that a birthday at a bowling alley is a great deal, so I was wondering what age is for bowling birthdays?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

As soon as they can understand picking up the ball and rolling it down the lane. Or strong enough to waddle over with the ball in thier arms and let it roll down the row.

I think I would take them to the bowling alley a couple of times to play as a family before taking a group of them to do it, this way you'll see if they hate it and would enjoy the activity.

We went to one last year for 3 and 4 year olds... thought it was a little young.
maybe 5 and up?
Depends what else is there, the 4 year olds seemed to prefer the arcade to the bowling (too much waiting for turn, and too many sets).

kindergardeners do this every year for their end of the year party at our school. So I would say 5, 6 are great.

We did one for my son last year when he turned 3 and he had a great time. We had some older kids and adults there as well. Instead of doing their 'Birthday Party' packages, we rented the lanes for an hour, which was a perfect amount of time for the younger kids. It was much cheaper this way. For the 15 or so people we had, we only needed 2 lanes total. They put the bumpers up for the kids and they had this alligator/dinosaur thing that they used to help them get the ball down the lane.

My 3 year old great nephew came to my 6 year old's bowling party and was like a little bowling maniac! LOL

If they can't life the ball, they can use those ramps....and gutter guards are usually a good idea.

6 and up is perfect I think. My son's class all went to a classmate bowling bday party and they were all about 6. They all were having a BALL. My son enjoyed it at age 5 but some of his friends had a hard time then with the ball...so 5 would work too.

My granddaughter is having a bowling party for her 7th birthday next month, I'd say 6 and up is a good age : )

I think 5 or 6 would be good. My hubby and I took our 4.5 yr old bowling a few months ago and he LOVED it! I think it would have been even better if he was just a tad older.

I'm planning on doing a bowling party for his 5th b-day in January, with just a few friends from school and some cousins.

We did it this year for my daughter's 4th birthday. We had kids ages 1-4 and they all had a great time.

we did it at 4 for both of my kids and it worked out fine, the younger they are the more supervision they need so they aren't on the alley when it isn't their turn and the alley guy may have to retrieve a ball or two that didn't make it all the way down but the kids loved it.

Hi lady-

My daughter is special needs...(developmentally around 5) and her class has been bowling several times...and they set up a ramp type thing with gutter guards...so made things easier for kids of 'all ages'.

Maybe ask at your local alley??

Have fun!

4 is a good age to start...I find any younger and they get bored with it easily.
