Hi Moms,

My daughter is turning 16 in a few months and she really wants to have a sweet 16 party. I'm fairly new to the area, so any recommendations for an affordable spot in the McKinney/Plano/Frisco area would be greatly appreciated..

I am looking for a venue that can accomodate approximately 60 to 100 people, space for light food to be self served and a DJ.

What can I do next?

R. - The Banquet Room at the Collin County Association of Realtors in Plano (6821 Coit Rd.) is a great spot to have an event! It can accomodate up to 200 guests, and custom room set-up is included in the rental price, along with a dance floor, stage, podium and outdoor marquee to advertise your event. In addition, you can select your own caterer or choose to use the room's kitchen facilities! Plus you get the room for the whole day so you have plenty of time to decorate. Call Sandie at ###-###-#### or e-mail her at ____@____.com - she can arrange for you to tour the room and answer any questions you have.

Hi R.,

I have a sweet little tea room in McKinney called Alice's Tea Shoppe. We host teas at very reasonable prices, and often include the cake (we make all our cakes from scratch). The girls get to select their own menu and style of cake. We have hats, boas, etc for them to use. We also provide a craft (if they want to make their own hat, or a jewelry item, or provide me an idea). We have parking on site and a block east of downtown historic McKinney. Please visit our website at www.alicesteashoppe.com, or you can reach us at ###-###-####. Thank you, C.

Banquet room at a hotel....Southfork hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, any nice hotel

Tea Room

Private room at a restaurant

Golf club.....Chase Oaks has an area for parties.

I use Gleneagles Country Club in Plano for our parties because the do it all for me, the food and service are excellent. It is a private club though so I am not sure if they rent out to the public.

Room at a Park and Rec center

Our neighborhood has a cabana that is a good size they rent out for parties. It is located at the pool area. A lot of people have pool parties and rent the cabana.

Enjoy!!

Hi!

I have a new business in downtown McKinney, a "paint party" studio that I think would be perfect for your daughter's birthday...she could bring a group of friends and paint...everyone leaving with a 16x20 canvas they painted! I can't accomodate more than about 40 in my studio but we do have music (not a DJ) and you are welcome to bring any food in. So, if a smaller party is a consideration, she and her friends would have a blast. I can always bring an artist and all the supplies to you! Just let me know if we can put a package together for you...thanks a bunch! You can check out our webpage at www.sippitydoodle.com to get a better idea of what we do. Have a great day...H.
