Advice on SlimQuick Powdered Drink Mix or Any Other Diet Supplement
Hello All,
I am currently trying to lose 10-15 pounds and am having no luck. I recently got a personal trainer and I am now working out 3 times a week. (Along with changing my eating habits). I have not lost any weight, inches etc...I've only been working out since the end of May but I would've thought I that could see a difference by now. My husband has already lost 10 pounds and we are doing the same thing...it's a bit frustrating. I'm thinking of adding a supplement to my diet (Slimquick). Has anyone used Slimquick or know anyone who has? Just curious. Any other advice is welcomed as well but I will tell you that I have an issue swallowing pills (silly I know) so any advice that doesn't require me to swallow a huge pill is welcomed :)

Hi S.,
I have tried Cinch a protein drink by Shaklee...my husband and I both drink it for breakfast with some variety of milk (he uses soy I use almond) and a banana or other fruit and in the summer ice. It is good, and holds my hunger all through to lunch, which not much else I have eaten does. You can only get it through a person who sells Shaklee, and I know someone who does if you are interested. It is pricy, but works and is designed for weight loss.

Women lose weight differently than men so don't compare yourself to your husband. Make sure that the calories you take in are less than the calories you burn during work out. And remember, weight loss takes time. Your body has to turn the fat into muscle and then the muscle will start burning the excess fat. That can take a while. Drink a lot of water and think positive! Don't take a supplement--they are proven to be quick weight loss solutions that don't last. You are great to be trying to take care of yourself--don't give up! I can always tell that working out is helping because I start to look different in my clothes even when I don't change sizes. And no matter what I always feel better about myself. Just stay off the scale for a while!

S.,
Men and women lose weight differently so don't compare yourself to your husband. My husband lost his sympathy belly long before I lost mine, and I breastfed exclusively for a year. Keep at it, weight yourself only once a week, use your clothes as your guide and if you don't see any results in a few weeks take another look at what and how you are eating. Sometimes if we cut our calories to much, our body goes into starvation mode and we don't lose weight. Good luck!

I have a lot of dieting experience. I only wanted to lose that last 20 pounds that I could not get rid of. i did the South Beach diet after my 1st born and I lost the weight that I have been fight for 18 months.
When I was younger I had a diatician tell me that I was drinking too much grapefruit juice and that was why I weighed 93 pound at 5'5".
I have a friend who is a trainer and she said that a person should expect it to take at the least 6 weeks to see any difference if they are doing the right things. Muscle weighs more then fat and the tummy is the hardest to get rid of.

I know how you feel, because I have been really working hard on loosing weight and to get trim and have a tight figure. men have it much on loosing weight with not having to work as hard as women for the most part. I have found that supplements never have worked that great. for the most part they have alot of additives and are not really that lucky. I have found drinking 8 plus glasses of water and right a detailed food journal is great. measure and weigh all foods and writing down what you consume. you may be eating to much of something. carbs, fat or cals. Good luck

Sometimes if you are doing weight bearing exercise you can put on muscle weight first and then lose the fat. This is what happened to me when I did body for life. I ended up losing 28 lbs in 6 weeks, but I first gained a few pounds. Especially if you don't have a lot to lose this can happen. I hope it goes well for you. I know I have gained all my weight back and more. I worry that doing the powder and the pills also didn't help with my metabolism, along with getting used to eating every two hours, which is fine when you are eating right, but not when you are not hungry or eating well. Are your clothes fitting lose? You could be losing inches and not pounds, inches don't always show up on the scale. I think we worry to much about the numbers when it should be if our clothes fit better and we feel better.
Take care,
K.

Are you keeping track of your calorie intake? Working out will make you hungrier and you will eat more. The only thing that has worked for me is finding out what my daily coloric intake is and reducing it. I eat between 1200-1500 calories per day and I am working out and losing weight. You will gain muscle, so your weight loss may not show on the scale, but you will notice inches melting away. If you go to www.calorieking.com, that canhelp you determine the calories for certain foods that don't have a label. Good luck!
