Advice on Childcare Options
Hi Moms.
We are expecting our first baby on March 4 so have started discussing childcare options. I will be going back to work 4 days a week in NYC after a 3 month maternity leave. Does anyone have any recommendations for part time childcare in the Westport area? We are open to daycare, nanny sharing or a one on one nanny. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks
L.

Hi L.,
Have you considered an aupair for your childcare needs. Aupairs are a much more affordable childcare option as compared to a nanny or a daycare setting. Also the flexiblity is great but most of all, having an aupair gives you peace of mind as you leave for work each day. Aupairs are between the ages of 18 and 27 years of age, they are fully screened and have completed their secondary education, they are legal and have health insurance. This is a cultural exchange program where the aupairs want to come and be part of an American family. They will truly love your children and care for them as you become their family while they are here in America. I would love to talk to you in detail and show you some profiles of available aupairs. Hi L., There are a few families in the area that currently have au pairs. If you would like more information I can help. There are 3 families currently on base with au pairs.
Hope this helps

I am not familiar with the area, but we have lived in several different areas in the US and in the past I have found a great in home daycare from craigslist and before I contacted this program through the city that had a huge list of in home daycares. I Also use babysitters4hire.com. -- that is my favorite site, but I do know a nurse who used to be a sitter on sittercity.com

Hi L.,
Have you ever heard of the au pair program? It is a government regulated program which brings young men and women to the US on legal J-1 Visas to provide childcare to American Host Families. The au pairs can work up to 45 hours per week doing childcare and light housekeeping. This is an affordable option for you, since you commute into NYC 4 days a week. The cost to host an au pair averages to only $320 per week, that is only about $7 per hour!! The hours can be flexible, so you can still enjoy some "date nights" with your husband!
If you would like addtional information and find out about our current ptomotions, please contact me at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.
Good luck to you!
