Advice Needed on Wedding/Birthday Gift

Ok, so my ex-brother in law (whom we are still VERY close with) just got married last weekend. We didn't go to the wedding because it was a small gathering in FL, and we are in NJ. So, we are going to dinner with him and his new wife tonight. We bought them a set of wine glasses with their initials engraved in them. So wedding gift is all taken care of. However, next week is both of their birthday's. So should we pay for dinner also? We went out for my birthday last month and they covered my portion as well as got me a small gift. Only thing is this dinner isn't really for their birthday, its just to see them since we haven't seen them since they got married. So our options are either to pay for dinner tonight, or take them out again in a week or so for another dinner (which we would buy) so what do you think?

What can I do next?

It depends on how much you want to see them - taking them out for dinner for their bday sounds nice to me.

I say pay for dinner and get it all done in one shot, unless of course you want to see them again next week for their birthdays :)

Pick up the check tonight. Done and done.
Have fun!

I would make it separate occasions. Then you don't have to cram everything in one night. And, when you go out for dinner this time, you could designate the birthday dinner plan for the following week. Maybe the second one could be something fun and cheaper, like going out for pizza?

Pay for dinner tonight and maybe give them a nice bottle of wine for their combined birthdays.
Or a gift card to a semi-nice restaurant.
Lottery scratch off tickets are fun in a card and in expensive.

do it tonight and be done.

Do it all tonight! Just tell them you're picking up the bill for their birthday treat too. It seems silly to try and gather and arrange schedules in another week or two...Have fun!

i would buy dinner tonight and also take along a gift card for them for another dinner out
