Advertising Question

Hi Moms,

My husband and I have a landscape business in Edmond and we are struggling with some advertising options. We are strongly considering Val-pak (you know, the blue envelope?) It is pretty pricey - but all advertising is. I want to know how many of you actually open those envelopes and look through the offers? Would you be more likely to choose from a company that listed in there or choose one from whom you received an individual postcard in the mail? or would it even matter the method that you received it? We have to make a decision this evening to be in the next mailing, so any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I always throw anything away that is not a coupon for a restaruant or something I really think I might need, and allot of times I don't even open them. If it isn't going to save me money (no coupon, just a basic ad), and I can't use it right then I throw it in the trash.

A postcard is more direct than the valupak and I think that the people who are interested would notice it, and it would be a little more durable if they decide to hang on to it. You can even get more out of your postcard if you include a business card into the design and have it perfed to pop out or tear off.

I think doorhangers are a good way to advertise, but a little bit more work to distribute.

I would also call on all the local garden centers and suppliers in the area to see if they have a referral list you could be added to, or a space to leave Business Cards ect.

Good Luck!
If you need any help with getting postcards or doorhangers done just let me know. I am a graphic designer and work at a print shop.

Good morning N..
My name is K. G.. I am a realtor with CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green in Edmond. I'm not sure how effective Val-Pak is. I know it is pretty expensive.

If you would like to e-mail me some information and logo about your business I would be happy to include it on my website, SellaMetroHome.com. Also if you would like to write a short "March is the time to..." article about landscaping I can include it in my next e-newsletter and blog for you. You can reach me by e-mail ____@____.com or phone ###-###-####.

I"m more likely to respond to a post card instead of the val-pak. I recently went with a company who left a card on my door. I prefer to higher small ma & pa companies instead of big chains. val-pak feels more like a big chain, even if it isn't.
Hope this helps!

If I get the mail I open it and look thru it, but it all goes into the trash. If my hubby gets the mail it goes straight into the trash. A post card would be better it would most likely make it onto the fridge if I knew I was looking into getting some landscaping done.

i look through it sometimes, but not too often. i would consider a card in the mail probably more. i would at least have to look at it that way without throwing it away!
