Adoption Advice Needed

My husband and I have been married for a little over 13 years. We have 3 beautiful sons. We have just begun the discussion of Adoption. We both have always wanted a little girl. I am no longer able to have biological children due to the fact I had to have a hysterectomy 2 yrs ago. I have done some preliminary research, but still need to know who is reputable. We are hoping to find a baby girl under 2yrs. We also don't want to spend all of our money on the adoption itself, but rather on the child when she arrives. We are happily married, love our children beyond compare, and are Christians down to our core. My husband is not up for foster parenting. He knows he could never give up a child once she has come into our lives. So, that just wouldn't work for us, even though it seems easier to find a child should we go that route. We live in the Spring area, and would just like any advice you can offer. Whether it's a good experience or a negative one. Thank you kindly.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who responded from the bottom of my heart. Your advice and knowledge has been a God Send and we are moving forward.

From a very Grateful and Proud Mom who is hopefully going to extend her family,

THANK YOU!!!!!

we adopted a 6 mo.old thru CPS..or you can try New life at Houston NW church.
feel free to contact me.

Try Depelcian (sp?) they are pretty big. I was adopted thru Lutheran Social Services as an infant and I know my parents were happy with the experience. I do know that is was expensive. I don't know about costs at different places or if you can specify boy/girl. My advice to you from growing up as an adopted child is to be honest with all of your children because they will have to deal with a lot of questions as they grow up. And your boys are old enough to understand what is going on. For the (hopefully!) new little girl, tell her about it from birth, that way it is not a big suprise later in life. I know people who never knew that they were adopted until later and it caused a lot of problems and resentment. There are books about adoption that put it into children's terms. We had them growing up and they were from a Christian perspective.
Good luck! I hope this helped.

There is a great Christian agency in Spring that my sister does foster care for. The name of the agency is A.I.M (Alternatives In Motion) They are located on 1960. Hope this helps . Good Luck!!

Try looking into Bethany Christian Services. I adopted internationally 3 years ago through a local agency that I would NOT recommend but I have wonderful things about Bethany. They do not have a local office in Texas but you can reach them at 800-BETHANY or www.bethany.org Best of Luck!!!
