Okay Moms, this heat is a total downer on our summer fun! Its just too hot to even enjoy outdoor activities so Im looking for suggestions on things we can do indoors. Tomorrow we are going bowling but it will cost about $25 for me to take my son and nephew...anyone know of anything free to do? I don't work on Thursday's so if you know of any place that has specials on that day would be perfect! Someone told me that the movie theater offers special prices and she thought it was on Tuesdays...does that sound right? Any suggestions would be great and thank you in advance!!

This heat is CRAZY! I have been here twelve years and never has it been this hot this early in the summer.

The free movies are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They have a pretty good schedule this year. You can see the schedule online or you can pick one up at the theater. I got a copy of it from Cielo Vista near Ingram.

The Witte Museum is free on Tuesday evenings.

All of the indoor play places have specials. I own Fiddlestiks (Culebra) and for the entire month of July it is only $5 for open play. There is Just Add Children (Mainland) and they are $5 for open play. There is Funtastic Playland and Dynamoze as well, but I am not sure of their specials.

Also, it is a good drive, but the McKenna Children's Museum is in New Braunfels and well worth the trip.

There are a few suggestions. I am sure you will gets tons of suggestions since we are ALL trying to find things to do with our kids to beat this heat this year. I am looking to hearing what other people have to say as well.

Just Add Children is off of Bandera on Mainland. its $5 every day to play. Its indoor and has stuff for kids up to about 10. Plus its open later and on Mondays! Funtastic playland is great as well. Its 8.50 most days, but on tuesday and thursday it is only $5. Ingram mall off of Ingram and 410 has an indoor playscape for kids and that is free. Hope this helps.

My son is also four and we both agree that McKenna Children's Museum really is worth the trip and Just Add Children is one of our favorite play places. I will be sure to check out Fiddlestiks now that I know it is owned by a fellow "mamasource mommy"!

The San Antonio Children's Museum. I know they have a night that is free for kids. Think it's on Thursdays.
