Acne Scarring

I have only minimal personal experience with this, but you might ask your dermatologist about Mederma. I used it after I had a very large-circumference mole removed from my back, and it worked decently well. I was not as faithful to use the product as instructed, so I imagine if you were diligent, you might have better results.

I wish you luck. I hate to feel that I *have* to wear makeup. I've been using L'Oreal's mineral makeup and it seems to give good, light-weight coverage, especially for "rosy" spots.

ALFALFA!! It does WONDERS! You can find in health food stores or even Wal-Mart. Helps the alkaline balances of the body which take care of the acne issues. I recommend it ALL The time to teenagers AND adults with acne problems. Have YET to have someone tell me it didn't work!

do not put witch hazel on your face it makes it worse. What happens when you do that is you damage the oil glands by drying them out, then they re-act by overproducing oil, so you end up in worse condition! (I know this from personnal use and $$$$ spent at many dermatologit apointments!) The best advice I can give is use a simple face wash like nutrogena clean and clear, follow up with a gentle toner (not astringent) such as oil of olay toner, and make sure you exfoliate (oil and dead skin is what produces pimples)~ it will pass, the scars you will have to go to a dermatoligist for~ or try something with vitamin C in it~ make sure to not over use different products, it aggrivates your skin and will make the acne more noticable! good luck,

I highly recommend Microderm Abrasion. There are several at home options available because having it done at a spa will cost anywhere from $75-150 a session and they usually recommend about 6 session. I personally really like BeautiControl's Microderm system because it comes with a brush. If you use a cream with your hands it is going to hurt (the creams usually have sharper crystals or sand in them). Try using Witch Hazel on your face. It works....

My daughter's dermatologist has mentioned getting a series of chemical peels. We haven't try it yet, but we most likely will. Just trying to stop thinking about $80 times 3-6 visits.

Visit a dermatologist after the baby is born, they can provide several options tailored to your skin type. There are some great products specifically to reduce acne scarring.

Arbonne's botanically based line is very effective. I've been using the NutriMinC Re9 ReActivating Serum and the ReGain Illuminating Enzyme Peel. They are pure, safe and effective products!

If your scars are really deep you might look into laser treatment. Many places offer safer, cheaper laser treatments for all sorts of things including acne scarring. Then I would follow up with great products like Arbonne.

Have you tried any Mary Kay products? I sell Mary Kay because I LOVE how well it works. The only time I ever get acne is when I'm pregnant. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I use MK Timewise 2X a day. When I'm pregnant, I use MK Velocity. It's mainly for teenagers with acne and it works VERY well on my pregnancy acne. I am an Avon representative. I also had horrible acne with both of my pregancies. So I understand where you are at. I tried proactive for a while, but I found after some trial and error that a good cleanser, not harsh cleansers and benzoil peroxide, worked better for me. If you would like to visit my webpage it is youravon.com/jverlee. I would recommend a few products. I personally love and use the ANEW 2 in 1 cleanser. It is a gel formula with microbeads. It cleanses and tones all in one step ( I'm all about keeping it simple). The other product that I would recommend is Completely clean thermocleansing. It heats up when you use water. VERY nice. I know that it is tempting not to use a moisturizer with irritated skin, but it actually makes it worse if you do not put back the moisture lost by washing away dirt and oil. I personally like ANEW Alternative day moisturizer with SPF 25.

If you are looking for something to cover scarring, I would recommend some of the ANEW makeup. There are a few different options (liquid or cream) depending on what you prefer. Another option I love is the mineral makeup. It is light, but has GREAT coverage. I use the translucent all over and it kind of airbrushes all the imperfections. Might be worth a try.
