Acne After Having a Baby
My daughter is 15mo. old and since having her I have horrible acne on my chin. I have tried Proactive and it is not working. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that might clear it up?

A simple and cheap solution to acne that has worked for me is Milk of Magnesia. Weird but true at the end of my shower I shake up my store-brand MoM, throw a handful on my face and let it sit a minute before rinsing it off and getting out the shower. My mom found this idea for me at http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2009/05/17/laxative-licks/. It can be left on to dry as well. I too have taken Accutane before (in college - which did work and kept my face clear for many years but was not fun to take) and was prescribed antibiotics that did not help after my most recent major breakout last year. Now I spend no more than $3.50 a month for a much improved complexion. I'm thrilled!

I had the same issue and after trying proactiv and many others I happened upon a radio talk show with a dermatologist guest. He suggested to a caller to just try Cetaphil. I was willing to try anything at that point so I bought it and have been using it for almost 2yrs! Within 2 uses I noticed a huge improvement. It's inexpensive and easy to get...give it a try!

Hi J.. I have had the same problem after both children. Laser treatment works wonders but is very pricey. I have just ordered this and am going to give it a try...
Jan Marini Transitions Lotion. This product works wonders on hormonal acne breakouts. I have been using this product for 3-4 weeks now and my skin has not been this clear since before I had my baby over 14 months ago! I continually had hormonal cystic acne breakouts under my jaw line and it is FINALLY gone!
Use twice daily. It should last approximately 3 months or more. $89. 100% guaranteed to work! You can use this in combination with your daily skin care routine.
Contains Salicylic acid and Spirolac to heal and prevent hormonal acne. Does not cause any irritation or dryness of the skin.
Transitions should be here by next week!
***Prepay by phone or email by 11-20-09 and receive $10 off Transitions!!!***
Have a great day!

Hi J.,
When I went through fertility treatments, I experienced the same thing. It was awful! My dermatologist prescribed an oral antibiotic as well as a cream called differin. I also switched to cetaphil soap only as my face wash. All of that seemed to help quite a bit. I think the antibiotic jump started healing the infection, then the differin and cetaphil helped dry it out and clear it up.
Hope this helps,
M.

Hello J.,
As personal Mary Kay Consultant for 12 years my experience has been that you need to be sure that you are doing the following...
Cleansing Am and PM
Masking (even spot masking) frequently as problems occur/otherwise at least twice a week.
Freshening Am and Pm
Moisturizing Am and Pm (right kind of moisturizer is important depending on what your skin is like right now0
Protect Am only (sunscreen)
If you are already doing those steps. Great! Then simply add more masking on the trouble areas and watch the results.
If you are overwhelmed and need more help I can give you a free consultation. If you need products that help you do all those steps and you want them to be 100% guaranteed, I can help.
Feel free to call me or email me.
Just for you,
R.

I recently went throught the same issue and went to a dermatologist. The diagnosis was an allergy to vanilla and cinnamon. Z paks and a liquid steroid is the only thing that cleared mine.

I just saw my dermatologist last week. I have problems on my chin as well. always have 2 to 3 blemishes. She suggested accutane that would prob. cure it! But,you can NOT wax if you take it so I declined. Facial hair bothers me more than a few blemishes!! So,she prescribes a cream t help treat the acne not cure it.
When I went to pick it up from the pharmacy I nearly fell over!!!! $158.00 with INs. applied!!! I said no-thank-you!! Now I do not know how big the tube was or how long it would last but I feel the Dr. should have told me it was exspensive first to prevent the shock! LOL I have had some success with the all clear product line.
