Hi S.,
Here's the deal on Acai Berry: It has the most antioxidants of any of the berries, but in my opinion, all Organic Berries are good for you. Antioxidants are good for you because they are the "cleaners" that bind up free radicals that cause damage to the body in various ways. When toxins (& free radicals) can't be eliminated from the body, they get stored in our adipose (fat) cells or in any of our organs, blood vessels as plaque, in our brains as plaque, etc.
So, if you want to clean the body, acai can help, but you need to be on a specific nutritional diet, be doing things to improve your lifestyle & mindset, and properly detoxifying your body. If you have anymore questions, I can help you figure out the best course of action. By the way, it's important to do a proper detox to improve & transform your health, not to do it for weight loss. Although, when done properly, your body will naturally lose fat, you'll have more energy, & feel renewed! I can be reached at ###-###-####. I run a safe, effective Natural Cleansing/ Detox program. It's the only one of its kind in the area.

It's great as an anti-oxient, but not for weight loss. Don't buy it on line, you can find it in the grocery store. Make sure to read the label & that acai berry is the 1st ingredient & that it does not have added sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

Hi S.,

As a nutritionist and wellness educator, acai berry is an amazon berry with amazing anti-oxidant benefits. Acai berry is also high in omega-3's, as much protein as one egg and high in fiber, and there is where the weight loss claim comes from...essentially if you aim to eat the recommended 25-35g of fiber per day, we would all lose weight...the average woman gets about 12-15g per day...you can see where I am going. I use acai berry and sprinkle it on my foods, whenever you increase fiber, you have to increase your water intake, otherwise the opposite will happen...you will get constipated. Fiber is the buzz word for 2009, so you are going to see more foods infused with fiber b/c we all lack it, high fiber diets help decrease risk for heart disease, cancer especially colon, diabetes, etc. For example, the potato that has gotten a bad rap has 4g of fiber, more potassium than a banana and high in magnesium which a lack of can cause sugar cravings. Get a baked potato put some salsa on it for a serving of veggies and a little avocado for fat and you have yourself a fabulous, well-balanced snack. I eat an apple first thing in the morning, one for fiber, two, so I know I am getting at least one serving of fruit in my day, we are human and we all can forget to eat our daily servings, though 2-3 servings of fruit is plenty and ideal. If you want more info on high fiber diets, this one is pretty good. www.fiber35diet.com her fiber sprinkle is acai berry.

Good Luck

Don't believe the hype. Acai is slightly higher in antioxidants than cranberry or pomegranate juice, but weight loss is within your mindset. You can do anything you want if you have the proper plan and goals. I watch what I eat but I don't deprive myself of the things I love, all in moderation and proportion. I also have a website if you would like to read up on effective liquid supplements. You don't have to buy a thing, it is more of a source of educated information. www.gopillfree.com good luck with your weight loss plan! Happy new year!

Hi, S....

I know that Acai berry juice is one of the best things you can drink because of its high antioxidant content, but I haven't heard of anyone using it for weight loss. Probably because it is so new--and fairly expensive to use. What I DO know, however, is that Apple Cider Vinegar has been used for years to help with great success. You can google it and read all kinds of information on it. Here are just a few sites that you can look into:

www.healthrecipes.com/apple_cider_vinegar.htm

www.ehow.com/how_###-###-####_lose-weight-apple-cider-vin...

If you do decide to try it, just be sure to note that ACV is very acidic and so you should make sure to not let it sit on your teeth for a very long time, and you also want to make sure that you double check with your doctor if you have any underlying health problems and to make sure that it doesn't interfere with any medications you may be taking--such as diuretics, etc. I used it for awhile to help with energy (and it did seem to help) and I would mix it into grape juice to take the 'sting' out of it.

I know that there are also 'Homemade Tonic' recipes out there that are not only supposed to aid in helping to lose weight, but they are also supposed to boost your immune system and help with many health problems...there is an "Apple Cider Vinger, Honey and Garlic" tonic and an "Apple Cider Vinegar, Cayenne Pepper, and Honey" tonic also (which I will use to help with a cold or sore throat and boy does it work!). You can do your own research on all of these and even check to see if there are personal reviews of people who have actually done it themselves. Hope this helps and best of luck to you. :)

its meant to be a potent anti-oxidant and help overall increase energy, make skin-hair nails healthier, and improve your immune system. Its a good supplement BUT not going to be the end all be all for weight loss. If you are limited on funds use the $15 or so a bottle you would spend on a juice/tablet and put it towards an inexpensive gym membership like Womens Workout world, Cardinal, Snap, Fitness 19. Eat right/less and burn fat= weight loss

Acai Berry is a great antioxidant and has great health benefits, but I'm smelling a scam when it comes to claims of weight loss. Don't get me wrong; it's a great product for improving general health (like a lot of other foods with antioxidant properties, phytochemicals, and the like) but there is no 'one single' food that is a magic bullet for weight loss.

You can buy juice at your grocery store but consume it for general health, not because you think it will help you lose tons of weight.

Hi S.. I started to try it and then stopped because I got a really bad cold and wasn't sure if my side effects were the Acai berry or the cold meds or a combo. I do have to warn you on any of the online ordering schemes. Read the terms and conditions!!! I got burned. They send a trial for shipping and handling only. What they hid in the fine print was that if you do not cancel within 15 days of "ordering" (not receiving which was 4-6 weeks) they will bill you for a 2 month supply which is $79.95. I ended up paying the $79.95 and now I am waiting for the second shipment. I am currently on the Alli diet (FDA approved) and honestly I like it. If you watch what you eat - low fat - then you are fine. I lost 5 lbs in one week and I have kept that off so far this week. I hope to lose 2 more this week. My goal is 15 lbs in 5 weeks. But the good thing is now I read labels and watch what I eat. I feel so much better. Also my belly fat is melting away. I went from a size 10 to a size 8. I'm trying to lose pregnancy weight that I never lost. If you have more questions let me know. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I have been taking ACAI vitamins for about 3 months. I can't say it has helped with weight (I have had some very difficult times lately so I wasn't eating much) but I do truly believe it helps get rid of water weight and I really never feel bloated. I hope that helps. I also have not got a cold all season, so far,

S.

Hi S., Please save your money! I purchased the Acai Berry tablets that were advertised on the web as being promoted on Oprah's show. The first month was supposed to be $15, but each following month has been over $75 and I'm having a hard time cancelling my order. I've called and received cancellation numbers, yet my credit card is still being billed each month. The pills help curb my appetite a little bit, but once they wear off - watch out! I either crash from exhaustion or need to eat as much food as possible. They don't help me at all.

Be careful if you order from a website. I ordered a free trial for $5.95. when you ordered you agreed to either cancel or pay close to $100 for the next bottle. when I tried to cancel the phone number wouldn't work, so I couln't cancel! Then they charged my card - so I am in a refund dispute with them right now. The brand was Acai Berry Supreme through SFL Nutrition. Be careful!
