Hello Ladies,
Can somebody advise a pediatrician with a holistic slant in DFW area or better in Coppell-Valley Ranch area? We do not vaccinate our son and trying not to use drugs; mostly it is herbs and homeopathic remedies.
But please do not advise a Dr. Deborah Bain’s clinic Healthy Kids in Frisco because it is not possible to see a doctor when you need it the waiting time usually 1-2 or even more months.

What can I do next?

We aren't in that area, but you might consider looking for a DO. They are a nice bridge between the allopathic and naturopathic practices. We have a similar philosophy that you have. We primarily see a chiropractor, but have a family practice DO for the rare instance that we need them. I would hesitate to go to a pediatrician.

I don't know about the holistic part but we go to Dr. Frank at Willowbend Pediatrics in Plano. He allows us to not vaccinate or choose the ones we want, when we want. His philosopy is that it's his job to educate us/answer questions and our job to make the decisions. My children are never sick so the holistic vs. drugs thing is not an issue. Other than Dr. Bain who I have heard/read uses homeopathy, I've never heard of any other pedi's in the area who do. Best of luck!

We don't vaccinate either of our children and have never needed the traditional pediatrician (they've never needed any allopathic intervention-ever). So, we use a family doctor, who's an MD, but specializes in homeopathy. His name is Dr. Alex Bekker. His address and phone number is: ###-###-####
6500 E Mockingbird Ln Ste 115. We see him if the kids need an exam to participate in school or to help them get over a cold faster. The good thing is that if my kiddos or either myself or my husband ever does need medical intervention, he is qualified to know the difference and would be able to prescribe the appropriate regimen.
I also agree with another post that getting your kids under regular chiropractic care is key as chiropractors are the only doctors that are trained to maintain the nervous system--the system that runs the whole show! I'm not saying that because I am a chiropractor, but the proof is in the kids that come regularly to my office (1X/month in most cases), but in my own kids as well. Chiropractors are also uniquely trained in nutrition as we don't prescribe drugs, so we are taught to "let food be thy medicine" as a way to keep our patients healthy all the way from the bio-chemical level to the clinical level. (Even at Harvard Medical School it's just an elective the last time I looked!) My chiropractor, Dr. Christy Porterfield, is in Grapevine as my office may be a little far for you (Plano). Let me know if you would like me to find one close to you--would be happy to find someone great! God Bless.

love Dr. Thomas Newell in Denton, TX. Family Care Clinic. It totally has the personal feel, holistic and mainstream practices, and they take time to listen to you.

I would visit Dr. Daniel Chartrand in downtown McKinney. He is completely holistic. You will love him. He has a general practice but also sees children. Is ok with No VAX. He uses homeopathic remedies and accupuncture. www.harmonyfamilyhealth.com
