Hi!

My husband is going to be gone all next week for work, and I want to have a couple of good movies to watch while he is away. Movies are my little treat when he travels. I was looking at my netflix list, and all I have are dramas and former oscar winners in my list... all of which I am sure would be great to watch, but by the end of a day when he's not here to give my any sort of a break, I need something that is easy, funny, and enjoyable to watch (no downers!) :)

Have you ladies seen any good ones lately? The only one I've seen recently that falls into the category I am thinking is "Knocked Up". Or something along that line. Superbad might be funny, but maybe more of a romantic comedy or something...

THANK YOU!!!
J.

So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice! I added Under the Tuscan Sun and Superbad to the top of my netflix list :) Probably a strange combination of films, but I think I'll like them both. I also added one that was recommended by netflix called Cold Comfort Farm. I'd never heard of it, but it looks pretty good.

Hopefully a few new movies will help my week go by faster! I hate it when my husband is gone for a whole week at a time!!!

The Waitress and Sweetland were a couple of good ones lately. Sort of sappy but really good. Another one was
The Ex, really funny. Have fun!

Knocked Up is one of my favorite movies of all time. The same guys did the TV series from the early '90s called "Freaks and Geeks." I had never even heard of it but my husband just checked out some DVDs of past Freaks and Geeks episodes, and I *loved* them. They will keep you occupied for hours.

If you haven't seen Superbad yet it is very funny, but also very raunchy, but if you like Knocked Up you'll like Superbad. My husband and I just saw it a few weekends ago.

I was disapointed in Knocked Up. Last good thing I got was the Supernatural series thru netflix. My whole family got hooked on the first 2 seasons of it. We just watched In Laws last night. It is an older movie, but wasn't that bad. If you haven't seen Wild Hogs, that was so hilarious!

I agree with Patty about Under the Tuscan Sun. It's very good. My husband and I watched it together and he even enjoyed it. Another good one we watched recently was StarDust. My book club read it a few months ago, so I had been wanting to see it. They did a great job of staying true to the book. Have fun!

I rented "waitress" a couple of weeks ago- fabulous! Also, there's a movie that was filmed in MN called "Sweetland"- a family friend worked on the movie and it is the sweetest, most beautiful movie I've seen in a long time.

Not very recent, but 'Under the Tuscun Sun' is one of my favorites.
I've also heard that 'SuperBad' is hilarious, but very vulger.
Also not recent, but super funny and a bit vulger, '40 yr old Virgin'.

If you thought that the humor in Knocked Up was funny, you should see SuperBad. I almost died laughing watching it! Also, me and some friends watched The Heartbreak Kid (with Ben Stiller) and we all thought it was funny.
