A Little over 3 Months Postpartum and Having Pregnancy Symptoms?

My DD is 3 months and 1 week old. My OH and I made the decision to not get on any form a bc because we had such a hard time getting pregnant with our first. We were using condoms at first and then we some how ended up not using them...at all. I got my period in mid September and at the end of October I had a few spots of brow. Mixed in with some clear discharge. Never had that happen before. I've been feeling nauseous the past couple of days as well. I've taken quite a few pregnancy tests and they've all been negative. Am I just imaging it or is there a chance its just too early to get a + hpt?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Im fully aware of how one becomes pregnant and how to prevent it. Thank you to almost all of you for stating the obvious.
My fiance and i are not trying to conceive nor are we trying to prevent it. That is why we sat down together and chose to refrain from bc. Yes, i am fully aware that there are risks that go along with getting pregnant again so soon, but if i am, i could never and would never ever "get rid of" a child. Ever. My question was not "if im not on bc is there a chance i could be pregnant." It was basically asking if there were any moms out there that got pregnant or know someone who got pregnant soon after having a baby and if their hpt showed up positive early on or if they had to get a blood test. Sorry if this comes off rude but i feel that some of the responses i got were pretty rude in themselves. Im 22 (yes young i know.) But i went through ursing school and i am fully aware of everything.

I don't know, but it's certainly possible that you are if you are having unprotected sex. My son has a friend whose parents were unable to conceive for years. Finally they did, and his older brother was born. He is 11 months younger than his older brother.

It may be too late, but if you aren't planning another child (yet) then USE PROTECTION.

you've been having unprotected sex (despite your body's need for a respite) so yes, there's a chance you're pregnant.

Yes, you could be pregnant. We had a hard time conceiving our first as well, and our second happened in the blink of an eye.

But alas, an Internet pregnancy test is unreliable, so go to your doctor.

Ziggy, I think OH is other half. :)

Pregnancy changes things, including fertility issues. So many women have trouble at first and then have no problem the second time. If you're having unprotected sex, yes, absolutely you could be pregnant.

Please talk to your doctor immediately - if you are pregnant, you should be nourishing yourself accordingly and avoiding the usual risky things. Your body still hasn't recovered from your daughter's birth, so if you are pregnant you may need extra care or supplements. If you're not pregnant, you may wish to rethink your decision about no birth control. You can also do a blood test which is much more accurate than home pregnancy tests. With all your shifting of hormones and body changes, anything could be going on. I'd stop spending money on the home tests and get with a qualified professional asap.

Good luck.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if it turns out that you aren't pregnant, please do your body the huge favor of using birth control for a space of time to allow your body to recover. Nine months of pregnancy and the trauma of birth, whether it's vaginal or a c-section is a huge amount of work on a woman's body. You need to be strong in order to give a second child the best chance for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Talk to your doctor about this - he or she knows you and has followed you through your entire pregnancy. He or she will be honest about how long before you try to conceive again. And NOT trying to prevent pregnancy is the same thing as trying to conceive, in the most practical of terms...

If you've had unprotected sex then yes you could be pregnant.
Some women will ovulate within 25 days of giving birth and there have been women who are pregnant as early as 6 weeks after having a prior baby.
No one over the internet is going to be able to tell you what's going on with you - you need to discuss these things with your doctor.

You know if you are having unprotected sex, you could be pregnant. If you did not want to be pregnant again so so soon, you should have been using birth control.

We don't know if you are pregnant or not. Go to your Dr and get confirmation. If the answer is no, then get on birth control or stop having sex until you are ready to be pregnant again.

Well, there are kids born 10 months apart .. and you can get pregnant the first time you ovulate.
The better (pricier) the pregnancy test the more sensitive they are. You should have a positive one if you're pregnant after 3 days of being late. Or about a week after conception. Where you had a period mid September - your cycle may not be entirely regular yet. So you may only just be pregnant, if you are. I would just hold off taking one for a week and try again. If your hormones in your pee aren't strong enough, you'll get a false positive. You probably know all this of course if you went through Nursing.
I read the other replies and personally, I don't think any mom was being rude. We get a lot of "Am I pregnant" questions on here, which of course, is kind of ridiculous. Only a test or someone testing your urine can tell you. But I hope we answered your question.
As a side note, I had two very close together - but I did give my body a break between them. I didn't want to go on birth control so we used condoms. I also wanted to take the pre-natal vitamins for a while to build up my reserves and I had a C-section so wanted my iron levels to go back up (I'd been anemic). Just things to consider. It's easy to not want to use condoms (not the greatest things in the world) - not sure if that's a factor in it (not saying it is). I would suggest getting checked out by your doctor to make sure it's a good idea to be "trying" (or just being unprotected). I got the A-OK from mine which made me feel better about my next pregnancy. good luck :)

You could be. My cousin and her husband decided to use the withdrawal method. He didn't withdraw fast enough and so their kids are 13 months apart. You may need a blood test. If you don't want to get pregnant right away work with your doctor on bc options. Good luck.
