A Little Advice please...carpool Driver Concerns!!!!!!

I feel you should tell her that you do not drive while talking on the phone and if she is going to be talking on the phone while your daughter is in the car you would rather stop the carpooling which really helps you and her (I hope)and you wish to continue carpooling if at all possible but that is something you do and it is perfectly O.K. if she chooses to continue talking on the phone while driving if that works for her and her family but it is a choice you made for your family. Parents should not be afraid to speak up when it comes to your children and not think whats easier for you but what is best for your child always trust your gut instinct. Make sure your daughter knows to tell you if the mother continues talking on the phone if she agrees to stop even if the mom tells her not to. This will teach your daughter she can always come to you when something is not safe for her. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

You should rightfully so say something, but when you do be prepared to stop carpooling in the event she is upset.

The question you should be asking yourself here, is "How would I feel,if my child wound up in an accident on her way to school? and "I said absolutely nothing prior".Gas for A five mile trip,up and back is a small price to insure your daughters well being.I wish you and your darlin daughter the best.J. You are in no way over reacting.
I have seen so many people ending up in other lanes because of talking on the phone. It's your childs life in her hands.
Just speak up. Say I need to talk to you about driving when on the phone it is something I am really against unless you have an earpiece and voice dialing. If she still does it.
Stop carpooling with her.

I would talk to the mom and let her know that your daughter said that they had missed the off ramp and that when you asked your daughter abouty it that she said that she was on the phone and that you were concerned about it. For the saftey issues. If this mom gets upset then you don't want her driving your kid to school. But I think she will apologize and hopefully it will all work out.
