Hi, my son is going to be one in may and we live in a small apartment. I dont want to rent at a rec or a little gym because its not something that appeals to us. Besides Sloans Lake, does anyone know a nice park that would be great for hosting a bday party. Some ammenities Im looking for are: a playground for kids, a gazebo type area in case of rain. I live in Arvada, but lots of family would be coming from Westminster, so those areas would be great. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

There is this really nice park in Westminster, called Westfield Village Park, 115th Ave & Sheridan, it is just east of Sheridan off of 115th & Wolff. This park has a small pavillion, a play structure that is perfect for toddlers, it has the soft ground and it also has a larger playground for the older children. It has ball fields and a large soccer field. We actually we planning on have a birthday party at this locations because of all the amenities, plus it has a restroom. I myself actually live in Arvada too and this is not very far of a drive. Drive by and check it out......

I'm not sure if this is too far for you, but we had my son's birthday party at Paramount Park in Wheat Ridge. It's on Kipling, at about 30th. It's a small park, but has a covered gazebo area with several picnic tables, a playground for the kids right next to the gazebo (so the adults could sit around and chat while the small kids played close by), and a large grass area (soccer is played there in the summer) between the park and Kipling so there's plenty of space for outdoor games or just for the peace of mind to know you're far from the road. There's also a bathroom, but I'm not sure if it's closed for the season and/or when it will be open for the summer. We reserved the park through the Wheat Ridge Parks and Rec department for our party - it was about $50, but it guarantees you the entire park area for the whole day.

Good luck with your party!

We were at a great park today that would be perfect for a young b-day party located in Arvada. It is located of 74th just east of Kipling...sorry I don't know the name. There is plenty of parking, potty, covered pavilion, and great play ground equipment designed for the youngest toddlers.
