You don't have to suffer for a whole week. Call your doctor's office. There are approved medications for pregnant women, both cold medicines as well as for allergies. Let them know your symptoms and they can tell you what to take. That's why the have a phone number! Call!!

I would suggest that you just wait until you see the Dr. next week. If you get any sicker, call and ask to be seen immeadiately, they shouldn't have any problems with seeing you that day. But taken medicine when you're pregnant is really tricky, because everything that you take the baby also takes. So you have to be very careful. Don't take anything like Nyquil or Tylenol cold and sinus, it could hurt the baby. Hope you feel better soon!

Best thing to do is get out of the house and go for walks, go swimming get moving. I know you are almost due and feel tired, but getting moving will keep everything moving including the negative thoughts. When we get stuck in the house our emotions & thoughts get stuck and the less we do the more tired we tend to feel.

The cold is probably a result of the stress from being pregnant and also from being down emotionally which weakens your immune system. I like to drink honey and lemon tea which is very soothing and also helps to relieve your cold symptoms.

Best bet is to keep a journal to get your emotions out and get moving even if it is just for a walk in the park to clear your head.

Feel better soon mama!

I would recomend calling your Dr and asking for a list of cold medacine that are considered ok for pregnancy. I have 5 kids, and they had lots of colds. My dr's office usually gave me a list of "safer" meds I could use once and a while. Most Dr's usually pay attention to what is considered safe )like pregnancy category B). Email with any questions if you want.

saline saline saline :-)

just squirt it up and let gravity do it's thing ;)

I don't know why it helps w/ all things cold related, but it does- makes it easier to blow your nose & get a lot out (eeew, lol)

about the cold, i would definitely not medicate until you see your doctor, but for aches and pains tylenol is ok (if your doctor says so). as for the no appetite and sleepiness, #1 could be from the pregnancy, as we get bigger our poor stomachs run out of room for food rendering us without the sensation of hunger. and as for the fatigue, you are carrying on the extra weight, and your metabolism is working overtime to make that beautiful little baby. #2 these are also signs of depression (without or with the pregnancy), so combine the discomforts of pregnancy with the sadness of not working etc and it is understandable. talk to your doctor.
PS i KNOW where you are coming from. i myself and prego for the second time (my son is 21 months old) and this time is with twins. i am 35 weeks and miserable!!!!! back ache, fatigue etc, none of which i had with my first. i am also pretty bummed about not working. lonely i guess. all of this normal from what i am told, hormones and all. just try to keep everything in perspective and remember what is at the end of the yellow brick road... a beautiful and healthy baby! good luck, email me anytime you want to vent!!!
