Hi J.! Yes, there is a go-kart place on Route 17 in Paramus - it's called Velocity 17. I live in Ramsey, but don't know of any other place like that. OH, one place that is awesome is the SUPERDOME. I think it's in Waldwick. You walk in and there's an indoor running track and several fields - you can choose football, baseball, soccer, hockey or a mix of a few sports. Good luck!

Hi J. the sports place in Paramus is now Raymour And Flannigan furniture. I only have girls but I know in Englewood on RT 4 east there is Hoop Zone. I have no idea how much it costs or whats included but that might be a good place to look into.

The place on 17 you are thinking could be Sports World which closed about a year ago. I just held a bowling party for my now 6 year old which was a big success. There are 3 bowling alleys in the area that hold parties: Bowler City in Hackensack, Brunswick Lanes in Hackensack and Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park. I compared them all, and found the best value was at Parkway Lanes - and on a Saturday afternoon we had it to ourselves pretty much except for some league bowlers.

Also depending on the time of year of the party - Van Saun Park is a good place to hold a party. It can be relatively inexpensive if you just do a picnic outside and they also have a popular zoo program but that fills up quickly.

You could try "The Zone" in River Edge on Kinderkamack Road. They have MANY different options, including bigfoot soccer and lazer-tag. We've used them and have also attended parties there. I would highly recommend them for that age group! There is a place in Waldwick on Hopper Ave called "In The Swing" that does sports-themed parties, too.

The Ramsey NYSC does birthday parties, and I think you bring your own food and drinks. I called them for my son, but my son will only be 3, and the sports stuff was not the best option for his age. they do have a lot going on for 9 year old parties.

Don't know the specific one you're talking about, but there's a place called In The Swing that's in Waldwick that has batting cages, etc. And I know there are a few places that do rock climbing for that age group too -- I think one is in your area.

Hi J., i just went to a party in waldwick. the place was sort of hidden and was called Unbelieva-Bills. I don't know how expensive it was but it was a very big place with lots of stuff...it was very busy but seemed to keep the kids happy and ran smoothly. they seem to have all kinds of buildings with different things. http://www.parentguidenews.com/Birthday/NJ_Writeups/Unbel...
my kids love to go to the inflation station in fairfield (the exit right after willowbrook mall). it might be a hike for you but they only have two parties running at one time. it's a 1 1/2 hour party. they overlap for halfhour of the hour of playtime..the last half hour is pizza and cake.

i hope this helped. good luck and happy b-day to your son.
