We moved here from CA back in Sept. of 07 and since then I haven't found any sports leagues to put my son in. He has played soccer and baseball in the past. Are there any suggestions as how to find out where he can join?

What can I do next?

Try the AYSO--Arizona Youth Soccer Organization. I think they may be involved in other sports as well or can lead you where they are. They are always handing out flyers to kids in grade school.

National Youth Sports (NYS) has baseball, basketball, flag football, and soccer programs. Summer season starts soon.

Try www.nysonline.org/arizona. Little league baseball is big here. You have to play that based on where you live (zip code) Usually wherever you live, the school will send something home when sign-ups are going on. If you google it you could figure out which district you live in. City of Phx just cut most of their youth sports due to the budget deficit, but here is their website that lists other options: http://phoenix.gov/TEAMSPRT/youthopt.html Good luck!

Depending on the area you live there is Young Champions. They have Karate, soccer and Cheer.
My son is an instuctor with them. He got his black belt and sometimes teaches soccer.

Hi Rhiannon,
My kids have enjoyed being part of Athletes in Training. They have PE classes and sports leagues all round the Phoenix area. In the summer they offer basketball camps and other things. The majority of the kids are Home schoolers so schedules are flexible and the coaches are great and the focus is on learning and not cut throat competition. You can find them on the internet at AIT.com I think or just google Athletes in Training.
Welcome to AZ!

There are so many! I'm sorry he missed out this year.It is good to pick a league by where you live. Soccer (Arizona Youth Soccer League)there is Sereno, Madison Futbol Club, Del Sol,...(soccer is over for now but they are recruiting and have clinics in june) Baseball there is Madison (Little League), scottsdale little league, madison ramms....(but baseball i think, is pretty much ending now now)Lacrosse (Arizona Youth Lacrosse League) there is the laxlocker.com in scottsdale ( sunday clinics and games for his age group), the glendale vipers have a summer thing starting up. Castle sports (i believe 19th ave and cactus) has many sports for boys year round, even box soccer.

When our sons were that age we always had them in either a parks and recreation league or a church league. Both are great skill builder and can take him through high school if you choose.
