Hello C.~ My daughter is still young to have any teeth yet but I have heard of plenty of children who receive their baby teeth when they are older. Some like closer to a year old. It's actually better the longer it takes for the teeth to come in. I think it has something to do with them being stronger. Have you talked to you dentist? Good luck!!!

It seems to be the normal thing today. My daughter went through it when her son was the same age. I kept telling her to take him to the doctor and find out what the problem was because her daughter had some teeth by the time she had reached 9 months. Nothing to worry about. Give it another month or two

Don't worry. My daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was 8 months but then they all started to come faster and faster. The top two..then bottom two and then all around. They coming soon...Don't rush it!!!!!

Hi C.

My daugther is 8 months too, and not one tooth yet. Our pediatrician says not to worry about it one bit! Our niece got her first tooth at 10 months. I hear if there is a family history of late teething, it carries on. My sister and I were both late teethers. We do think she may be teething now, but even if your daughter is not, try not to worry about it!

Yes, I had the same problem with my son... He was about 10 mo. old when his first tooth came in (he's now 21 mo. old). Then they started to come in all at once, he would have 2 at a time come in, and all I could do was put baby origel in his mouth to help sooth the pain.. which was helpful.... but it was still very painful for him. Good luck.

My son didn't get his first tooth until he was 9 mos. Then they all came in very quickly. Sometimes 4 at a time. However, don't worry. The longer their teeth stay in the gums the stronger the teeth are. My mom didn't get her teeth until she was about 2 and she ate apples.

Many children's teeth come in a later than others. My cousin's baby girl started cutting teeth at about 2 months!!

My son started at about 6 or 7 months. I can't even remember anymore!!

Don't worry too much about it.

Has she been drooling? And, trying to bite on everything? Perhaps they are trying to come through but she's got some thick, tough gums.

If that's the case you can use those gum massagers to thin them out a bit to help them start to come through.

But, in any case, she's perfectly normal.

Hi C.,
My son just cut his first tooth and he is 8.5 months. I thought he was going to be toothless forever, but they have arrived. Give it time. Trust me once they start, you may wish they hadn't! He is miserabe lately. I am not sure if it is an old wives tale, but i was told that the later they come in the better for the baby. who knows.....Good Luck!

MY DAUGHTER JUST MADE 9MOS. ON THE 18TH OF APR. SHE DOES HAVE TWO TEETH BUT SHE GOT THEM AT LIKE 5MOS. AND HASN'T GOTTEN ANYMORE. ON HER 9TH MONTH CHECK UP I ASKED THE DOCTOR WHY IS THAT SO AND WHEN WILL THEY COME IN. I WAS TOLD THAT'S ONE MILESTONE THAT HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT STAGES FOR EVERY BABY.SHE COULD GO ALL THE WAY TIL 12 MONTH WITH NO TEETH SHE SAID.LET THEM TAKE THEIR TIME BECAUSE Aariana CAN'T STOP BITTING PEOPLE.

Hi C.,
My daughter got her first tooth the day before her first birthday. I was freaking out but eventually one by one they came in. Now she is 6 1/2 years old and hasn't lost one of them yet. Everyone in her class has lost at least one of their teeth so far and my daughter still hasn't ... I keep telling her to try to hold onto them as long as she can! Save me money...
Take care, Jen

Don't worry...her teeth will eventually come in when they are ready. You won't have a toothless child. My daughter's first tooth didn't surface until 10months. She will be 3 in July and has a full set of healthy teeth.

Hi C.,

My daughter Victoria got her first tooth at 13 months. She is now 16 months and she has two bottom teeth completely in and 3 on top in the process. Someone told me that if a baby's teeth are late coming in that means that they will be tall. I don't know if this is true. But, my husband and I are both tall and so is Victoria.

Dont worry. My daughter is 9 1/2 months and she still has no teeth. I know quite a few people that have had children and their kids didn't get teeth until after their first birthday. The octor has told me not to worry that my daughters teeth will grow in when they are ready.

lol, don't worry about it, I promise her teeth will come. I felt the same way about my daughter (who is now almost 4) on her first birthday she had not only a mouth full of no teeth, but a shiny bald head! there were kids her age in daycare that had a full set of teeth and I thought there was something wrong with her. Needless to say she now has all of her teeth... and almost waist length blonde curls so don't worry so much, everything will come in time! Good luck!

My son got his first tooth at 15 mths! I spoke to 3 different pediatric dentists plus my pediatrician who all reassured me that it is okay and all of his teeth will come in...no fears!

No need to worry...this can be very normal! Often, children who get their teeth late have parents who also were older when they cut their first tooth. My son in now 16 months and only has three teeth. He cut his first tooth right after he turned a year old. While most children in his cohort have a mouthful of teeth, our pediatrician has reassured us that there is nothing to worry about. Apparently, I was well over a year old when I began to get teeth as was my brother. Best of luck to you both!

No worries, C.. My little brother got his first tooth at 13 months! He got them all, they work, and he's a model now, so you know there's no problem with his smile! My nephew was almost a year when he got his first, as well.

My stepfather is a dentist and when I was concerned about our daughter's teeth not coming in yet he informed me that the later they come in the straighter and stronger they are. Our daughter got her 2 bottom teeth at 8 months, but she is almost a year and has not gotten any more. Don't fret! She is going to have a beautiful tooth filled smile eventually.
