If he doesn't go within the next day or so you can try a glycerine suppository. They're not very pleasant but they work. I had to use one on my son when he was about that age.

Our Dr. had told us to use mineral oil. It doesn't hurt them he said so we can give it to her as often as we need to. Just add it to the bottle. We still use it to this day when she gets constipated.

I wouldn't worry about it until it's been longer than a week or so. Since the baby's breastfed, two days is not a problem.

It is normal for breast fed babies to go without a bowel movement for up to 5 days.

It is actually normal for a breastfed baby to sometimes go up to 9 or 10 days without a poop! Unless your baby is showing signs of discomfort, it is nothing to worry about. I went thru the same thing with my baby.

If you don't have one, buy a nasal aspirator that comes apart. Use the part that you would put in the nose and insert slightly into the rectum. This will push any excess air out and he will probably go immediately if he is stopped up. This should not cause any discomfort and you don't have to give him anything unnatural.
