Hi ladies,

I am 5 weeks pregnant and do not have sore breasts. Has anyone else experienced this? I also don't have any other symptoms except for fatigue and a little bit of d/c. I know it is still early but I was just wondering if other ladies out there also did not experience sore breasts during their first trimester. I am paranoid about miscarrying!

I didn't get sore breasts until I was about 18 weeks and all of a sudden they were swollen and sore! Don't worry there's tons of time for ALL the fun symptoms.

I have been pregnant 3 times - 1st I miscarried in the first trimester, 2nd and 3rd were both normal pregnancies and I have 2 beautiful, healthy children. I think I had the most "symptoms" with the first pregnancy. I remember having the same symptoms with the 2nd, and 3rd had almost no symptoms at all. Don't worry. I don't think symptoms have much to do with the health or viability of the pregnancy (both according to my experience and from what I remember the doctors saying). :)

My breasts were not sore for any of my 3 pregancies. I never miscarried...I understand your worry though. I just think that, for me, little/no breast changes = difficulties in breastfeeding. I could be wrong about that, but that's my guess. I hope your pregnancy goes well!

D.,
I didn't really have sore breasts either. I'm now 5 months pregnant and starting to have sorness, mainly chaiffing. I'm sure it's fine. Every woman is different.

Good luck to you!

Hi D., I'm sure others have responded similarly, but know that every pregnancy is different. The only symptom I had of being pregnant throughout my pregnancy was an aversion to odors (but no sickness, just a little nausea if the smell was strong), and fatigue. I gave birth to a healthy, beautiful 9lb baby boy, so I don't believe symptoms correlate to the health of your baby. Good luck!

D.,
I am almost 16 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby! I did not have sore breasts with this one until about 2 weeks ago, so count your blessings, you might get them later, I sure have! I also have not had any symptoms with this pregnancy, which is completely unlike my first two pregnancies. I have not had the fatigue I had with the others, the sickness, or even the nausea! Also, I am having my 3rd girl! So I am living proof that every pregnancy is truly different! Good luck and God bless!

Hi D.,
I never had sore breasts until after I gave birth and was starting to nurse. I did't have morning sickness or any of the other common symptoms of pregnancy but everything was smooth sailing. Every woman is different and so is every pregnancy. Keep smiling and enjoy!

I never had sore breasts my entire pregnancy. I also didn't feel fatigued until my last trimester and I had no morning sickness even though I was pregnant with twins! Talk about being paranoid about miscarrying....Plus I had a little spotting and cramping the first 2 months. Because of all this I couldn't enjoy the amazing fact that I was pregnant until my 2nd trimester. Relax. Enjoy.

Don't worry. You have plenty of time to get sore breasts. Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. Don't sweat the symptoms you don't have and just focus on eating healthy, getting plenty of rest and taking care of yourself! You'll be fine! Congratulations!

You don't have to be sick to be pregnant. I have had 3 kids and I never got sick had sore breasts or any other bad symtems. As a matter of fact I always felt better when I was pregnant. The only sign I ever had was missed period and a little more tired then usual. Thank God for an easy sickfree pregnancy I never expected to be sick don't worry you are fine. Congratulations!!

D., I am almost 11 weeks along and have experienced no sore breasts at all, although I have had nausea and fatigue and saw a strong heartbeat on the U/S at 8 weeks. I had sore breasts with my first, and this is my second. I thought it was odd too, but all my hormone levels checked out fine. So I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck with your pregnancy!

A girlfriend of mine did not get sore breasts with her second pregnancy. She did have them with her first pregnancy. Both children were born healthy and remain healthy today. For your own peace of mind, ask your doctor about it.

Oddly enough, it seemed like I was reading my thoughts in your post! I've also got a 2 yo and am at the same stage. Have been pregnant twice before (first ended in misscarriage which is what makes me nervous) and both times had super sore breasts. Maybe it's because I nursed for so long that they are in a different state now? Anyway, I've had a bunch of blood tests that are telling my dr that all is ok. Just started some serious nausea a couple of days ago so that makes me feel a bit better ;-) We'll see how it goes. The couple friends I've told have mentioned that their pregnancies have been different. Good luck to you. We'll both know more in a few weeks!

I had absolutely NO "symptoms" when I was pregnant with my son. No morning sickness, tenderness, nothing. So don't be too worried! And every pregnancy is different (I'm guessing you had tenderness with your first, so now you're wondering why not this time). Two years after my son I got pregnant with my daughter and it was totally different. :)

Both of my pregnancies I had virtually NO symptoms of ANY kind. I always said if I didn't see the ultrasound myself (and until my belly started to grow)....I wouldn't believe I was really pregnant! No breast changes at all. And I nursed both babies without any difficulty so I don't think that ties in at all. Try not to worry! This is a GOOD thing!!!

I never had sore breasts, or bigger breasts, during my whole pregnancy - and my pregnancy was totally fine, no complications at all. The only thing I did experience was some "morning" sickness from approx week 6-13.

I wouldn't worry about it. Different symptoms affect different people. Often you don't even get symptoms until the hormone levels start to elevate more at week 6, 8 and through the 1st trimester. I was paranoid about all my symptoms/non-symptoms too...but it was needless. I ended up having a great pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby who has been a dream.

Congratulations!

I didn't have soreness till later on in pregnancy. I'm now 7 months and sore now. But in the beginning I get the morning sickness till 4months. Everyone is different and will not always experience all the signs of pregnancy. Some people feel the same as they did before they were pregnant. You're still early on, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I never experienced sore breasts with either of my pregnancies, so it probably just depends on the pregnancy (maybe it will be a girl this time?) Hopefully all is well and you just wont have to deal with the discomfort.

My breasts didn't start hurting until some time in the second trimester with my second child. It took a while with my third child as well. Only with my first did they start tender early on in pregnancy.

I didn't have sore breasts at that point either, I actually never had any typical pg 'symptoms' until he started kicking me. The better shape you're in, the less you experience.

Hey D.,
I haven't really experience sore breasts (and I am 19 weeks along(, but they sure are itchy at times! I ended up buying a salve that helped both the itchy feeling on my belly and breasts and put it on right after my shower in the morning which really does help.
I don't recall getting any serious pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, tiredness, etc) until after 6 weeks.
I wouldn't worry. It's a little early and each pregnancy is different.
