40Th Birthday Gift Ideas - Omaha,NE
My best friend will be turning 40 in a couple weeks. I line out-of-state so I won't be there to celebrate with her, but I do want to send her something. The problem is...I have NO IDEA what to do/buy/send her. (The only thing I know for sure is that I don't want to do a gag gift?) Any ideas would be appreciated :). Thanks mamas!

Do you have enough photos to make a little friendship album?
Paint a friendship dish or mug.

Wish we knew more about her.
I like to get items that have been personalized like a robe, a cosmetic travel bag, a tote. Beautiful linens, that are monogrammed.

Or I love giving a really generous gift card to a super nice place for dinner. So they can get dressed up and go out.
I like to send gourmet baskets, maybe speak with her husband about taking her on a romantic picnic when the basket arrives.

Or a special piece of jewelry, James Avery has special pieces.
Maybe pay for a night or 2 at a Bed and Breakfast. Send it on a gift card.
I am sure you will come up with something amazing.

When I turned 40 my sister wrote me a note that said "40 reasons I love my sister", and then she listed a bunch of sweet things that are special to her about me. It was so sweet and thoughtful.
You could also make her a photo book of the two of you through the years. You can scan in photos and then use iPhoto to make a book. They turn out really cute.
I second Laurie's idea of something personalized. I also have a monogrammed pocket mirror that my (very thoughtful) sister gave me.
