4 Mo Baby Rubbing Head During Sleep, Back Hair Wearing Off.

totally normal mom! She is just dreaming when she moves in her sleep. the hair will grow back but if it bothers you put her to sleep on her side sometimes and rotate from side to side. you can get a wedge or roll a blanket behind her to keep her up. The reason she puts her head in your chest is because that is how she communicated to you and also she is smelling you. i know that sounds weird but she is just making sure it is mom and now you have this communication so she does that and you feed her. it all works! enjoy your new baby!

This baby hair style is lovingly called the "skullet" like a mullet the sides are short but this shortness makes it way all the way around with a little patch of hair just at the base of the skull. TOO CUTE!! Don't worry your little one will be sporting the next phase which resembles a faux hawk. SUPER long on top and just growing in on the sides. Two things your baby is doing: learning to get settled into her rem sleep. REJOICE, nice long sleep patterns are near. My son would do this and the face rubbing. Also, they are just trying to work through all the stimuli of the day. Some babies even rock in their sleep. Just pet, sooth and swish.

It is perfectly normal for a child to rub her head and get a small bald patch. Eventually her hair will grow back and you will never know she rubbed her head during her sleep.

That's quite normal (I'm sure you've heard that a lot already), my 2 girls did the same thing. In addition, when she was about 4-6 months, my eldest also pulled out all of the hair on the left side of her head - and she had thick, dark hair! It was a strange sight, but the doctors told me "that's normal, if it bothers you, shave her head". Which was comforting, but not.

LOL!!! The bald spot is totally normal. Our little girl had one too and we'd joke that she and grandpa had the "same haircut." No worries. This baby hair will all be falling out and replaced anyway.

My baby (now 5) had the biggest bald spot I had ever seen because she slept on her back and would fidget like that too. It will go away when she gets more active and can roll over in her sleep and move around more. It looks funny to you now, but whenever I see a bay with a big bald spot it takes me back....

Like everyone said, it's totally normal. My son was born with a full head of hair. It slowly fell out and now it's growing back again. Though, he still has the bald spot on the back of his head where it rubs against his bed. Every baby goes through that little stage. It's annoying and silly looking, but it will pass. :-)

It is normal that your baby's hair is wearing off. It probably is a combination of rubbing while sleeping and while being fed. That part of hair is the part that is in contact with the crook of your arm while feeding. It is common for this to happen. Don't worry! It will grow back. As for the rubbing her face in your chest...she probably just likes the feel, smell of your skin. Treasure it as long as you can.

Hi M., This is so normal! Our little girl looked like she had a mohawk for a short time there. Don;t worry, it grows back. Look around at any other babies her age, most of them suffer from this too. Best Wishes

It's totally normal from sleeping on their backs. It will come back. Do not worry at all.

Ditto! My 3 month old does the same thing...I'm interested in seeing what responses you get. I didn't even think about the missing hair patch being associated with it.
I had to go back to work a week ago - be ready to shed some tears, it was awful! But I must say, it has got a little easier every day.

Loosing newborn hair is very normal. Most newborns get a bald spot so don't worry.

I also have a beautiful 4 month old lil girl. Born Aug 11th. My little girl is also losing her hair in the back due to rubbing her head back in forth when she is sleepy.
This is perfectly normal. When they get a bit older and are able to move better on their own her hair will grow back.

TOTALLY normal! And very common. I am the mom of 4 and 2 of mine did this. Not a big deal at all. The bald patches look a bit funny, but it is just one of those kid stages that will pass.

Dont' worry it will grow back. I think most babies rub the hair off the backs of their heads in the first few months

Don't worry about it! Babies get a bold spot on the back of their head from always laying on the back. It is very normal for her not to have hair on this one spot.

I have a 9 month old baby girl and she was born with a head full of hair, and in 2 months time she lost all of it. She has a full head of hair now. Don't worry. It's normal for babies to lose hair.

My oldest did this. It's pretty common. Her hair didn't start growing back until she was over a year. She had tons on top and on the sides but none on the round part of the back of her head. She was a back sleeper though and my younger one was a tummy sleeper.
