Hi Moms, My daughter is 31/2 and has always been petite/short. I am only 5"2." Pants are always long. From your experience which clothing brands make pants a little shorter than others? Thanks

What can I do next?

Old Navy pants tend to run shorter. Hanna Andersson and Tea Collection are also great. I have a very tiny 2 1/2 year old and a 4 1/2 year old that is too tall for most 4T and too short for most 5T so I have found it best to buy leggings since they have elastic bottoms that grip the leg and aren't loose. They can wear them alone or pair them with a dress or skirt and they aren't dragging or "floods."

My daughter is pretty tiny. Very skinny and pretty short too. We've had good luck with Old Navy and all brands sold at Target. Janie and Jack is pretty good for petite kids too, but they are pretty pricey. H&M also carries kids clothes and work well for smaller kids. Good luck to you!

Target/Circo seem to be shorter than Gymboree or Carter's. My daughter is also short in the leg and I'm not tall myself, either.

my daughter is 4 and has only gained 6 pounds since she was 1 year old. She weighs 25 pounds and is very short as well, so i have always had this problem. We have always had to alter her pants. The only pants that i can buy that i dont have to alter is the leggings from walmart and kmart...

My 3 yr old is petite, and I had good luck with Hannah Andersson leggings, they are sized in cm not inches so they run a little differently.

I like Hanna Andersson, because their sizing is based on the child's height, rather than their age. The clothes are a little more pricey but excellent quality (they last forever!) and very cute. If you can pick up stuff on sale, it's well worth it!

I also have a 3 year old on the short side. Both mom and dad are 5'3". We usually just put her in one size smaller than her shirt size, but I am also interested in what you find out.

I know Carter's clothes go up one inch with each size.

I have a similar issue... daughter is 5 y/o, 34lbs and 42" tall. She wears 3-4T pants but they are too short!!

If she doesn't grow in girth by much... maybe invest in a friendship/business network with a local tailor or seamstress and get her pants hemmed - and when she gets taller but still fits in the waist - have them let out?

They should really make a long and lean selection as well as short and lean... after all they make 'husky' sizes for the larger than should be children... so why not those at a normal weight to slightly smaller?

i say gymboree but they're sizes run big so if she wears a 3t it would be a 2t at gymboree. but pants are never too long, i love it

Children's Place jeans are on the shorter side. I usually start my daughter in Children's Place and then move her up to something else a bit later. I wish they would make half sizes in the T's as well.
