3Rd Trimester Pain

I am expecting #3 and I am about 37 weeks along. For the past few weeks I have been having vaginal pain. It's mainly when I try to get up from laying down and turning from side to side while laying. I know that the extra blood flow can cause discomfort and pressure from the baby. This is more than just a little discomfort. I also have a enlarged vein down there too. Is this common? I don't remember having this sort of problem with my previous pregnancies.

What can I do next?

I was told by my doctor with # 3 that increased pain with each pregnancy is normal and not to call him with every twinge. He was so right! With # 4 these pains started even earlier. All you can do is grin and bear it. It will all be over soon even though it feels like it's gonna be forever.

I think it's normal. I had it too. Loads more pressure and discomfort, swelling, popping veins, etc... I had it all with #3 but never had any such problems before. Ask your OB - but I suspect there isn't much to be done except try to relax and keep your feet up. (No problem, right?!?)

Unfortunatley yes it is very normal , the more pregnancies you have the more discomfort you feel , because your body has been through it before it's already loosened up! , it is hard as you already have 2 kids to look after (I know as I have 3 myself) but when you can try and sit and relax and not be on your feet to much , for example on weekends let hubby run around with the kids so you can rest.

Hold in there not long to go!

It's simple really, you are having this problem because you body is getting ready to go in labor, duh right well i say this because i had the same problem with my second child. I thought the pain was worse before i started haveing contrations..lol my husband is an ob nurse and he said to tell you that yes it is very common.

I had a lot of problems with enlarged veins in the vaginal area with both of my full-term pregnancies. It was caused by the babies putting so much pressure on the area and veins. My midwife told me to use cold packs to help reduce the swelling. The vaginal pain when you get up or turn from side to side (if not from the swelling) maybe caused from the baby putting pressure on nerves (as I had a lot of that) and/or from your ligaments doing increased stretching.
I hope this helps and blessings with your third delivery.

I have had 8 children and with each one that feeling came even earlier and I felt like I had to 'hold' everything in it hurt so badly. Walking became very painful later on with each child and going shopping where I walked very long at a time was very painful. All I can say is that the blood pools and pressure is there and the baby gets heavier and it's just good to rest often, prop your feet up if you can, and it will be over soon after the baby although I still have issues now off and on if on my feet long. Give yourself time to get back to 'normal' after the delivery and you should be fine. I know that in the meantime it sure does hurt!!

I had a little bit of that with #2 and I had a vericose vein too. It sucks, but it goes away, just a few more weeks! hang in there!

Not sure about all of the pain but when I was pregnant w/ my second one I had the large vericose vein in my vaginal area as well - which was very painful. It is quite normal and goes away after you give birth. If you are really concerned I would talk with your Dr to ease your worries.
