3D/4d Ultrasounds - Long Beach,CA

I'm thinking of having one of those 3d/4d ultrasound packages(pics, dvd w/ music, etc.) done I didn't consider having one with my first child. I've been reading conflicting information. I've read that it is safe and others state that the sound waves can be harmful to the baby. Does anyone have any personal experience in the arena? I'd love to do one but I don't want it to be harmful to my baby. Plus, if anyone can refer me to a place in the South Bay/Long Beach area? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I have heard that it could cause speech development problems. I do have a fried who has two children - she got a 3d with one child and he has experienced speech issues.

I love them. I had three of them done!!! My baby was also a high risk baby and at 34 weeks I had a quick check ultrasound done 3 times a week. My baby is now 2 and there are no problems with her. She is very smart and can hear just fine.

Hope that helps,
K.

I did the 3D/4D ultra sound with my son (who is now 8 weeks old) and it was really cool. I do not believe there are any risks above those of a regular ultrasound. I have several friends and cousins who have also done them and everyone enjoyed them. I wouldnt worry about the safety but do we aware that once you are too far along (i think it is after 35 weeks) it is harder to get a good picture- so dont wait too long.

Congratulations on your new baby and enjoy a glimps of him/her before he/she arrives!

I did one with my second child at Before the Stork. It was really cool. The only thing I read about it being harmful is for those who do it to much. They try every week or somehting like that. My was totally safe and done they had all their certifications.

If you have any worries ask your doctor to see what they say. They could even give you a recommendation to someone who does this. http://www.beforethestork4d.com/

4D ultrasounds are perfectly safe!!! I am an ultrasound technician and did these ultrasounds. I did them while pregnant numernous times. They do consent ultrasounds on high risk pregnanicies. I would recommend going to First Look Sonogram in Redondo Beach because I know they have the good equipment GE Voluson Machine 730 pro, but they are pricey, also there is Prenatal Peek in Torance you can let either place know that M. an ultrasound technician refered you. Good Luck! It is a wonderful experience to see your baby.

Hi R.,
I have a 15 month old daughter and am 6 months pregnant with another little girl. I went to Before the Stork in Los Alamitos. I highly recommend it. For my 1st daughter, I used the 4D picture on my Baby Shower Invitations and I got so many compliments on it. It is truly amazing how you can see your child.

My doctor has had three babies and she has told me to come in any time I am concerned to use her equipment to look at the baby. She said she looked at her kids all the time when she was pregnant, so I personally didn't have any concerns.

Friends of mine gave rave reviews about this place, and I have found them to be so kind. We found out when we called that I was near the end of the time frame when they can get good pictures. Despite my husband's very hectic work schedule, they were able to accomodate me and my extended family by giving us an after hours appointment. When our son kept his face covered, they had us come back for free. Having the video and the pictures have helped me wait to meet my first baby.

Hello R.

I actually had tow 3D ultrasounds and it did not bother the baby at all. I think they are very cool and they only scan you for possibly 10 minutes if that. I had one at 28 weeks and another at 34. It is very neat to see your baby in 3D as they actually look like a baby and not a black and white nothing :). I was a little concerned about it but have talked to many people that have done them and they said it is fine. Good luck with your pregnancy.
