35 Weeks & No Braxton Hicks Contractions Yet.... Should I Be Worried

I am due June 6th and haven't had any sign of any contractions so far. What does that mean? Does that mean my uterus isn't getting the practice for actual labor? Is it a bad sign?

What can I do next?

No need to worry. I didn't feel any contractions, braxton hicks or real, until I was in active labor.

Not at all. Every birth is different. I never had any contractions. I ended up being induced 8 days after my due date and had a beautiful healthy baby girl!

I went into the hospital for my induction and they hooked me up to the monitors only to find out that I was having contractions every 3-5 minutes.. Had NO clue!!! Maybe you just have a high pain tolerance! Good luck and congrats!

Hi J.,

I went 41 weeks without a single braxton hicks. Don't worry! Not everyone gets them. Your uterus is just fine without that practice! :) It knows what to do and when to do it! Trust your body...it knows a lot more than you think. Good luck!

No...I wouldn't worry at all :) In all honesty, they may be happening at night while you are sleeping, or maybe you cannot feel them at all! Even if they aren't happening, I wouldn't be concerned.

You are probably having them but just not noticing. For me they were never crampy, my stomach got just kind of firm. I could not really feel it, just from the outside I noticed my belly was firmer than usual.
Good luck.

I never had any contractions before I went into actual labor. My sister-in-law didn't have them with any of her 4 and my other friend never had any contractions with any of her kids, either. I actually think it's more rare to have them, plus it's a pain - be thankful you don't have them!!!!!! Your uterus will get PLENTY of practice during your actual labor!

I didn't have any BH with my first, and one day my water broke(a week before my due date). With my second, I started having them ALL of the time, about 3 months before he was born. My second was an easier delivery, but I don't know if that was the reason, or because I had done it once already, so I knew what to expect. Congratualtions!! :)

With my first, I didn't have BH contractions until 39 weeks. I all of a sudden started having them a lot and then my "real labor" only lasted 2 hours. Congratulations!

I don't think you should worry.
The other side of the coin would be worrying everytime you felt one and thinking you're in labor.
Your body will know what to do when the time comes.

Relax and look forward to a beautiful baby!

I only had them with my first pregnancy and only three times. Never with my second. They aren't "real" uterine contractions so no worries! You should know when they are real, unless you have an extremely high pain tolerance :)

No need to worry. I never had any Braxton Hicks contractions. Two days before my due date I went to the bathroom at 3am and lost my mucus plug. I was feeling contractions by 5am and 36 hrs later my son was born (exactly on his due date).

Be so glad that you haven't had any! I had them starting in my 2nd tri and it SUCKED!! My doctor was so surprised that I described a pain like braxton hics so early. Nothing was wrong with the baby and everything else was fine, I just started the stupid hics early.
Maybe you're labor will be like in the movies where you'll be asleep and then you wake up and say "It's time!!" and your husband will scramble all over the place while you are trying to get ready to go to the hospital. Lol!

You should not be worried, you should be THRILLED!!! Not everyone get's braxton hicks. Braxton Hicks are just false contractions. Once you get into your later weeks they are worrysome because you have to constantly count them and if you have more than 4 an hour you have to go to triage. But you may not be in labor. Who need that on there plate while waiting for baby to arrive!

I am currently 30 weeks and have been having them since week 24. I wish they would go away!

Is this your first pregnancy? I never felt my bh contractions during my first even though I was told I was having them. When I went in for my 36 weej ultrasound the tech told me I was having one but I didn't feel a thing! I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my second and this time I can feel them. I don't know if it's b/c my body is different or because I know what to feel for now. I really woudn't worry about it...our bodies are amazing and they know what to do!

With my first I never noticed any braxton hicks contractions. If I had them or not I don't know I did feel anything and my daughter came 2 days early. With my last pregnancy I had braxton hicks constantly and the kid didn't want to come out. So no worries, just relax and and enjoy the next 5 weeks. Your little one will be here before you know it!

I have had 4 boys and rarely/never felt braxton hicks. I had a few my 1st pregnancy and NONE the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time around. In fact, I never went into labor on my own. Never. I was induced all four times and it wasn't bad at all. It is not a bad sign, just means that your body is relaxed and might not be ready to start all that work! Don't stress - it won't help anything and trust me...that baby will be here before you know it! Every body is different so don't expect things to go like a textbook. Just enjoy the ride...it's long and sometimes bumpy, but wonderful nonetheless. Good luck!! And Congrats on your upcoming miracle!! :-)

Say Halleluja! And thank your lucky stars!! I didn't have any with my 1st, but my 3rd made up for it (had them from 8weeks on-sometimes 10 hrs at a time). Be glad you haven't had them, I hope your good luck keeps up. :-)
