33 Weeks Pregnant and Fell on My Front Side
Hello ladies! I was wondering if any of you-all experienced a fall during pregnancy. I'm 33 weeks and took a spill today face forward. My knees hurt pretty good but I did land on my belly still some. I felt a jar but no real pain to my stomach. I'm not leaking any, and I still have had good fetal movement.
Anybody have any experience in this realm? Just wondering how freaked out I should be.
Thanks for your input. You're a great group of people.
So What Happened?™
Thank you-all sooooo very much. Your responses were very reassuring. I had my doctor's appt yesterday and had the NST fetal monitoring and everything looked great. My knees are getting better and the soreness is going away. Note to all the preggers out there: Watch your steps! We could pass as a bunch of drunks.

I'm so sorry! I actually fell at 36 weeks out on our sidewalk. Right on the belly like you said. I was so nervous and upset. I called the doctor and they sent us to the hospital for a mandatory 4 hour monitoring. Everything was fine. Give the doctor a call just for piece of mind. Also, at 40 weeks I was hit in the stomach with a ball. WE spent the night in the hospital for monitoring but everything was fine. (Baby was delivered at 41 weeks)

Always check with your doctor, of course, but you wouldn't believe how well our bodies protect those little ones. You would have to have your stomach hit with a lot of force to do any harm. Like I said, check with the doc, but I wouldn't be freaked out. :-)

i fell on my stomach when I was about 7 1/2 months pregant. It scraped up my knees also. I was just in shock. No bleeding or pain. I called the dr the next day and he said unless there was pain I should just take it easy. I delivered a healthy 10lb 5oz boy 1 1/2 months later. GOOD LUCK....

L.,
My two year old got up on the arm of the couch when I was taking a nap and did a "dive-bomb" on my belly at about 36 weeks. Hurt like hell, but the preganacy went fine and so was my baby. Of course, he's 20 now and I am starting to wonder...!
Just kidding! Hope everything goes well. I would call your doctor though and let him know. There is a lot of cushion there for the baby so probably he/she is fine ~ I hope your knees are doing better.
God bless,
Deborah

I was at the end of my pregnancy as well when i fell on my front side on some steps in the downtown tunnels. I was fine and made sure to keep track of the babies movements .I would call my doctor just to be on the safe side, but my doctor said that I should just make sure the movements were the same as before the fall.

I fell on my stomach when I was about 35 weeks along. I fell flat on the center of it. My baby didn't move for over 24 hours and I was seriously starting to freak out, but then she started to move again. She is now 13 years old and completely normal.... So, I wouldn't worry too much, especially if the baby is moving around still. However, if you are in doubt at all, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Good Luck,
J.

I would call your doctor and tell them what happened. If they feel the need they will have you come in for an ultrasound and make sure everything is a-ok! Hope you have a blessed baby and congrats on the new one.

Congratulations on your new baby! I fell in the last trimester when my cat was weaving between my feet. I too, fell forward and banged up my knees, palms and hit my belly on the driveway. The baby arrived on time and I never had any pain/complication associated with the pregnancy. Being a natural worrier, I freaked out enough for both of us. You are off the hook. (smile) C.
