3 Year Old Has Rash, Has Anyone Else Experienced This?

My 3 year old daughter has a red, bumpy rash on the outside of her genitals and inner thigh area. She is already potty trained. She doesn't sit in soap in the tub. I let her play, then wash her as soon as she is ready to get out. We rinse her one last time with the removable shower head to make sure no residue is left behind. I have used the same laundry soap and dryer sheets since she has been born. I use the same baby body wash to wash her. She has just turned 3. Since we took her off of the bottle, which was a couple months after she turned two, she hasn't been drinking as much fluids. We encourage her to drink all the time. Recently her urine has seemed a little cloudy, but she doesn't complain of any burning or pain. The inside of her vagina has no rash and isn't red. Has anyone else experienced the same problem or close to it?

What can I do next?

Heat rash, yeast, UTI, food allergy. Increase fluids even if it's through fluid-rich foods. Decrease dairy for the time being just to see. Stop the baby body wash - it's not necessary even though you don't think it's the cause. You can try a little cranberry juice or cranberries in her diet. Urine should be clear if she's sufficiently hydrated and infection-free. No powder - increases yeast infections. This sort of thing is also very common in the summer.

It really sounds like a yeast infection. You CAN have a yeast infection on the outside vulva without having one inside. You need to take her to the doctor and get a medication for it.

Could she have heat rash? Or perhaps a yeast infection? The cloudy urine sounds possibly indicative of that. Oh, and just because she does not complain of pain does not mean there isn't a possible infection. Take her to her pediatrician.

A person can develop an allergy to any substance at any time no matter how long they've been using it. I loved tree nuts and Pecans were my favorite. Now I'm allergic to Pecans and almonds and I don't even try any of the other tree nuts at all, I stay away from all tree nuts.

The older I get the more allergies I have.

I don't think this is an allergy though. If it were then she'd have it everywhere the substance went. It sounds like a bladder thing. If she's having that. I don't know. To me it sounds like she's leaking into her undies and that's causing a rash.

Diaper rash, heat rash, or yeast infection, make this cream to take care of it:

1 Tube Desitin Creamy
1 Tube clotrimazole (found in the feminine products aisle)
1 Tube triple antibiotic (Neosporin)

Mix it up and put it in a airtight container/jar. During diaper changes, spread a layer on clean skin. It clears up pretty much anything.

You write that it's a rash, but does she complain of itching, pain or discomfort? My guess would be that it's a summer time iritation from snug shorts, legs rubbing together, heat or a combination of these. When my legs are chubby, I definitely get that way when I sweat (oops, did I write that on a public message board?!?)
