Hello ladies!

I was just wondering what your 3 y/o girls are playing with? I am going to a b-day party next weekend and was just wondering what is popular amongst this age group??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

First of I would like to thank you all for the awesome Ideas!!! I did a bit of the art supplies and a bit of the Disney Princess. I got her some color wonder things by Crayola, 1 of them was available in the Disney Princess theme. I got her a Cinderella and Snow white puzzle. I found a DP castle filled with bath bubbles. A few outfits and a Disney Princess tea party CD personalized with her name all threw out the songs on the CD.

But again thank you all so much for all your help!!!

I have a boy so I always call up the moms and ask what their girls are into, just incase. It's easier to know that way then guessing. Good Luck

Most 3 year old girls LOVE princesses. Disney or otherwise. It's amazing how they know which princess is which. Personally I always buy art supplies like washable markers, paints, brushes, stamps, crayons, glitter glue, paste, paper, child scissors, googly eyes, small pieces of fabric, wood letters that spell their name to decorate etc. Children are so creative and love to do art work at this age. You can purchase ready made kits. Sam's Club and Costco usually carry a big Crayola box and add the above items or you can make your own kit. We also do books about manners, learning to read, etc. Little girls generally like beads and making jewelry. We buy big beads for little fingers (ready made kits or make your own). Dress up clothing is always good. And child size mops, brooms, dishes etc. 3 year olds generally love to clean and really love things that come in their sizes. Hope this helps. Have fun at the party.

My girls loved to play dress up, they loved purses, fake make-up, pretend cameras, dolls with a diaper bag and accessories. This age is easy, really. Have fun!

M.,

If the phone number is on the invtitation, call the parent and ask what the child is in to? What do they need, or what do they already have. At least you'll know you're gettign what they would make them happy.

My 2 1/2 year old LOVES Dora the Explorer, Magna Doodle or similar drawing board, puzzles with popular cartoons (Pooh & Friends, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, etc). AT this age, don't get anything smaller than 24 pieces because they won't be challenged. The box will usually give you the appropriate age grouping.

It's also almost summertime. Get them "fun in the sun" toys (beach ball, bucket, water toy that connects to the hose)...maybe throw in a good SPF sunblock.

M. and Doug make these magnetic dress-up dolls. They have a princess, a ballerina, etc...They are wonderful! My daughter got them for her 3rd b-day and is still playing with them over a year later. They are made of wood, and you can get them at Toys-R-Us for about $10.

My daughter will be 3 next month and she is into Disney princess' big time. If you don't want to go with specific characters, then play doh, books, or puzzles would be fine.

My daughter just turned 3 and she really loves doing arts and crafts- gluing pipe cleaners and pom poms on paper, etc. She also loves My Little Pony, Dora, Diego, etc. A really cute bucket of art supplies is something my daughter would absolutely love. Another great idea is a baby doll- my daughter is really getting into the whole playing little mommy thing too.

As a parent of a 3 year old, I can say that I especially appreciate gifts that can teach her something- puzzles, games like hi ho cherrio, flash cards, etc.

Good luck!

My kids are young men now, but when I gave parties or gifts, I went with what I loved to do as a child. Favorite books or Disney films, paint with water books, age-appropriate activity books -- these things never go out of style.
