3 Day Potty Training - Cumming,GA
Anyone have any experience with the 3 day method of potty training. Is it worth it? Does it work?
So What Happened?™
Thanks for the responses! I just wanted to see what people thought about it. This is my third child to potty train. The other two were just done by 3. He is doing great and I am not putting too much pressure on him. He will go if I ask. I am just ready for him to tell me he has to go on his own. It's only been about a month, if that.

Not sure what this entails, but I did the naked method for 3 days and my daughter was trained pretty much by day 2.

I did the 3 day program with my son. We stayed home over one weekend near his 3rd bday. While it wasn't a miracle in that he was potty trained by that Monday, it was a great way to really focus on it. I did ask him every 10 min if he had to potty, had snacks and juice on hand. So pottying was always on his mind. We probably were completely potty trained in 45 or more days. But I'll have to say the "poop" training was the hardest. Not sure if it is a boy thing or not. In about 3 mos, he was not having night accidents. I did use the pull ups at night. But I had everyone on board with the program with no turning back. He wore big boy underwear from then on no matter how frustrating. Plus we had a big reward - going to Chuckie Cheese.

I tried this method but not as intense as the 3 day method suggest. It does work but it depends on what your goal is.My daughter has been doing this method for a month had has had a few accidents, but we went with the 4 to 6 week approach.

I read up on it and I decided I just didn't have the time to deadicate living in my bathroom for 3 days with my son!!
I truly believe they will do it when they are ready as my son trained at 2 1/2 at his Nan's house 900 miles away when we went there for this past Christmas!
Keep it simple and with lots of praise! Potty charts for stickers, http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/CTGY/FREE-Potty-Trai...
potty candy, simple potty chair like from IKEA or the Baby Bejorn (IKEA is way cheaper and both are designed well for boys!) and or a reducer for the regular toilet. Set a timer for 20 min intervals for a week or so and then increase the time to 30 mins as you child gets the hang of it. My son would try for a 2 weeks and then refuse to try for a week and then pick it back up again. That's fine. If you child doesn't want to try, don't make them! This is supposed to be a fun experience not a bad one! Also, look for the signs, like taking off diapers, tell you right before or after the fact, staying dry at night was the big one for both my kids. My Daughter was dry at night for 2 months before she got it during the day and my son started staying dry at night right before he trained too. Let them run around in underware while you are at home and don't make a big deal if the have an accident.
Just stay patient and consistant. Go with the flow of your child and it will happen before you know it!
Good luck!

I am a big fan of this method and use it with the kids that I currently work with (I am a behavioral therapist with developmentally delayed children and those with Autism). You will have accidents, so be prepared, but it does work and the outcome is so huge. I would be happy to explain more to you if need be. You will have to have tons of patience!!
Good Luck!!!
